Don Hill, a hill station in Maharashtra and Gujarat, is one of the lesser known picturesque hill stations with unique beauty and wonderful climate. The hill station has many magnificent views with peaks, green hills and enchanting wide valleys that make you revel in the closeness of nature.

या ठिकाणाचे हिलस्टेशन मध्ये रुपांतर करीत असताना. पांडव कालीन गुंफा दृष्टीस आल्या. त्यामुळे त्यांचे गुरू द्रोणाचार्यांना समर्पित असे या ठिकाणाचे नाव द्रोण असे ठेवण्यास आले. सुंदर निसर्गाने समृद्ध ठिकाण, कौटुंबिक सहलीसाठी हे कमी गर्दीचे ठिकाण आहे. नाशिकपासून फक्त 107 किलोमीटर. मुंबईपासून अवघ्या २६८ किलोमीटर अंतरावर.
डॉन हिल हे महाराष्ट्र आणी गुजरात मधील एक हिल स्टेशन आहे, हे फार कमी माहीत असलेले नयनरम्य हिल स्टेशन्सपैकी एक आहे ज्याचे अनोखे सौंदर्य आणि अद्भुत हवामान आहे. हिल स्टेशनवर शिखरे, हिरवेगार टेकड्या आणि विलोभनीय विस्तीर्ण दऱ्यांसह अनेक भव्य दृश्ये आपणास निसर्गाच्या सान्निध्यात रममाण करते.

Personal Experience bike ride Mumbai to Don hill station

We visited this place while my bike ride from Mumbai to Saputara. We always try to search for new places to visit. Don hill is on the way to Purna wildlife. It’s a few kilometers away from Vani – Maharashtra. We started from Mumbai. We continue On Mumbai Agra road till Nashik. After Nashik, we move to Nashik Wani road. We reached Vani at 2:30 am. Don hills are just 60 km away from Vani.  After 15 to 20 km we found a place to set our tent. Near Arjun Sagar dam. We take a rest in the tent.

मुंबई ते सापुतारा बाईक राईड दरम्यान आम्ही या ठिकाणी भेट दिली होती. आम्ही नेहमी भेट देण्यासाठी नवीन ठिकाणे शोधण्याचा प्रयत्न करतो. डॉन टेकडी पूर्णा वन्यजीवांच्या वाटेवर आहे. हे वाणी – महाराष्ट्रापासून काही किलोमीटर अंतरावर आहे. आम्ही मुंबईपासून सुरुवात केली. आम्ही मुंबई आग्रा रोडने नाशिक पर्यंत चालू ठेवतो. नाशिक नंतर आपण नाशिक वणी रोडला जातो. पहाटे अडीच वाजता वणीला पोहोचलो. वणीपासून डॉन हिल्स अवघ्या ६० किमी अंतरावर आहेत. 15 ते 20 किमी नंतर आम्हाला आमचा तंबू लावण्यासाठी जागा मिळाली. अर्जुन सागर धरणाजवळ. आम्ही तंबूत विश्रांती घेतो.

We headed towards “Dawn Hill” early in the morning. Road condition is bad and narrow. But it is full of beautiful scenery. We reached the main gate of Don Hill. At the main gate there is a counter action of vultures. As soon as we entered the main gate we saw beautiful yellow flowers all around which looked like a movie shooting location. We started climbing a Don Hill gorge. After traversing a very narrow and winding road, we finally reached Don Hill Station. At the top of the mountain there was again an amazing pleasant atmosphere.

आम्ही पहाटे “डॉन हिल” च्या दिशेने निघालो. रस्त्याची अवस्था वाईट आणि अरुंद आहे. पण तो सुंदर निसर्गदृश्यांनी भरलेला आहे. आम्ही डॉन हिलच्या मुख्य गेटजवळ पोहोचलो. मुख्य गेट वर गिधाडांचच प्रति कृती आहे. मुख्य गेटमध्ये प्रवेश करताच आम्हाला आजूबाजूला सुंदर पिवळी फुले दिसली जी एखाद्या चित्रपटाच्या शूटिंग ठिकाणासारखी दिसतात. आम्ही एका डॉन हिल घाट चढायला सुरुवात केली. अतिशय अरुंद आणि वळणावळणाचा रस्ता पार करून आम्ही शेवटी डॉन हिल स्टेशनवर पोहोचलो. डोंगराच्या माथ्यावर पुन्हा अप्रतिम आल्हाददायक वातावरण होते.

Don Hill view and trek

After proceeding from there, there was a good parking arrangement. A view point was made there for tourists. From there the range of Satpura mountains on all four sides and the rain spread a green shawl on it making it more attractive. There is a good seating arrangement near Hill Point. After going a little further from there, there are two hills. A group of over-enthusiastic youths were seen walking to the end of the hills for a bit of adventure. It is a great place for trekking.

द्रोण डोंगर माथ्यावर पार्किंगची उत्तम व्यवस्था होती. पर्यटन विकास मंडळांतर्फे तेथेच शेजारी पर्यटकांसाठी व्ह्यू पॉइंट बनवण्यात आला होता. तेथून चारही बाजूस सातपुडा पर्वतांच्या रांगा आणी त्यावर पावसामुळे पसरलेली हिरवी शाल अधिक मनमोहक दिसत होती. हिल पॉईंट जवळ बसण्याची चांगली व्यवस्था आहे. तेथून थोडे पुढे गेल्यावर दोन टेकड्या दिसतात. काही अति उत्साही तरुण मंडळी थोडे साहस करण्याच्या दृष्टीने त्या टेकड्यांच्या शेवटच्या टोकावर चालत जाताना दिसले. ती ट्रेकिंग साठी एक उत्तम जागा आहे.
