History of Ajinkytara fort

It’s located near Satara city. It’s become a important fort due to it’s geographical location. You can saw total satara city as well as Sajjangad and other nearby fort from Tehalani buruj.

ते सातारा शहराजवळ आहे. भौगोलिक स्थितीमुळे हा एक महत्त्वाचा किल्ला बनला आहे. तेहलानी बुरुज येथून तुम्ही एकूण सातारा शहर तसेच सज्जनगड आणि इतर जवळपासचा किल्ला पाहू शकता.

Ajinkyatara is a word which belongs to  Brave Maratha Queen Tarabai, daughter-in-law of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. This fort is also known as Saptarshi  fort and the fort of Satara. It’s a one of the capital of Queen Tarabai kingdom.

अजिंक्यतारा हा एक शब्द आहे जो छत्रपती शिवाजी महाराजांची सून शूर मराठा राणी ताराबाई हिचा आहे. या किल्ल्याला सप्तर्षी किल्ला आणि सातारा किल्ला असेही म्हणतात. ही राणी ताराबाई राज्याची राजधानी आहे.

Ajinkytara was built somewhere around 12th century, Ajinkyatara is ruled by many kings. It is very important fort near to Satara City. This fort experience many war and attack. अजिंक्यतारा 12 व्या शतकाच्या आसपास कुठेतरी बांधला गेला होता, अजिंक्यतारा अनेक राजांनी राज्य केले आहे. सातारा शहराजवळील हा अत्यंत महत्त्वाचा किल्ला आहे. या किल्ल्याला अनेक युद्धांचा आणि हल्ल्यांचा अनुभव येतो. या गडासाठी अनेक राजे एकमेकांशी लढतात. जो लढाई जिंकतो तो या किल्ल्याचा मालक होतो. पश्चिम घाटाच्या किल्ल्यांपैकी एक, महाराष्ट्र, सातारा, सातारा येथे भेट देण्यासारखी ठिकाणे,

In main entrance we found a Ganesh murti on the top. Big wooden door which was only open for festival and war. Their was a provision of small door for entrty.

मुख्य प्रवेशद्वारावर आम्हाला गणेशमूर्ती दिसली. मोठा लाकडी दरवाजा जो फक्त सण आणि युद्धासाठी खुला होता. प्रवेशासाठी लहान दरवाजाची व्यवस्था होती.

Personal experience

We visited this place during our Satara bike ride. We started from Mumbai at night via Pune – Khmbatki ghat – till Wai. We reached wai at 3:30 am. We search budget hotels in Wai at just Rs. 300/- for a night stay. We got one hotel on the main road according to our requirement.

आम्ही आमच्या सातारा बाईक राइड दरम्यान या ठिकाणी भेट दिली. रात्री मुंबईहून पुणे – खंबाटकी घाटमार्गे – वाईपर्यंत निघालो. पहाटे साडेतीन वाजता वाईला पोहोचलो. आम्ही वाई मधील बजेट हॉटेल्स फक्त रु. 300/- एका रात्रीच्या मुक्कामासाठी. आमच्या गरजेनुसार मुख्य रस्त्यावर एक हॉटेल मिळाले.

We wake up in the morning and took darshan of Wai famous Ganpati Temple and move towards Ajinky tara fort. It’s just 39 km away from Wai via rajapeth road Satara. We took right from Shahu chowk and small curvy road start which continue till Ajinky tara fort.

सकाळी उठून वाईच्या प्रसिद्ध गणपती मंदिराचे दर्शन घेतले आणि अजिंक्य तारा गडाकडे निघालो. वाईपासून राजापेठ रोड सातारा मार्गे हे फक्त ३९ किमी अंतरावर आहे. आम्ही शाहू चौकातून उजवीकडे निघालो आणि लहान वळणावळणाचा रस्ता सुरू झाला जो अजिंक्य तारा किल्ल्यापर्यंत चालतो.

Sightseeing on Ajinkytara

It’s take almost 2 to 3 hours to roam inside the fort We saw below points

• Main entrance – Big Wooden door with combination of Small door for enterence.
• Tehalni buruj is next to entrance which used by soldiers to keep watch on enemy movement.
• Temple’s :- Mauti, Mahadev and Mangaladevi temple, It’s a gramdevata mandir, people celebrate navratra utsav every year.
• Radio station – Aakashwani kendra Satara and big tower of radio station is available on fort. Fort hight help to capture good requency.
• Lake for Water supply – Now its fill like green water lake. It’s suppose to be a water supply source for the people who lived in fort. Due to low maintenance it’s become a dirty.
• Tarabai Rajwada – We saw only bricks wall and only outer structure is available.
• Big letter Name of Fort. It’s approximate 20 ft + hight and very long in length. It’s made by iron structure. It’s highlights fort name to surround area.
• View point of Sajjangad and Satara city. We able to saw entire satara city as well as Sajjangad fort and many nearby places.

अजिंक्यतारा येथील प्रेक्षणीय स्थळे

• मुख्य प्रवेशद्वार – प्रवेशासाठी लहान दरवाजाच्या संयोजनासह मोठा लाकडी दरवाजा.
• तेहलनी बुरुज प्रवेशद्वाराजवळ आहे ज्याचा उपयोग सैनिक शत्रूच्या हालचालींवर लक्ष ठेवण्यासाठी करतात.
• मंदिराचे :- मौती, महादेव आणि मंगलादेवी मंदिर, हे ग्रामदेवता मंदिर आहे, लोक दरवर्षी नवरात्र उत्सव साजरा करतात.
• रेडिओ स्टेशन – आकाशवाणी केंद्र सातारा आणि रेडिओ स्टेशनचा मोठा बुरुज किल्ल्यावर उपलब्ध आहे. फोर्ट हायट चांगली रेक्वेंसी कॅप्चर करण्यास मदत करते.
• पाणी पुरवठ्यासाठी तलाव – आता ते हिरव्या पाण्याच्या तलावासारखे भरले आहे. समजा किल्ल्यामध्ये राहणाऱ्या लोकांसाठी हा एक पाणीपुरवठा स्रोत आहे. कमी देखभालीमुळे ते अस्वच्छ झाले आहे.
• ताराबाई राजवाडा – आम्ही फक्त विटांची भिंत पाहिली आणि फक्त बाह्य रचना उपलब्ध आहे.
• मोठ्या अक्षरात किल्ल्याचे नाव. हे अंदाजे 20 फूट + उंच आणि लांबीने खूप लांब आहे. ते लोखंडी रचनेने बनवले आहे. हे किल्ल्याचे नाव आजूबाजूच्या परिसराला हायलाइट करते.
• सज्जनगड आणि सातारा शहराचा व्ह्यू पॉईंट. आम्ही संपूर्ण सातारा शहर तसेच सज्जनगड किल्ला आणि जवळपासची अनेक ठिकाणे पाहिली.
