Wai is a famous religious place in Satara

Wai is established near the Krishna river because of the many religious places and temples available in a wai. Krishna river is a holy river as good as Ganga. You can found many holy places around the Krishna river bank. Kashi Vishwanath is also available in Wai so many people called Wai Dakshin (North) Kashi.

वाईमध्ये अनेक धार्मिक स्थळे आणि मंदिरे असल्यामुळे कृष्णा नदीजवळ त्याची स्थापना झाली आहे. कृष्णा नदी ही गंगेसारखी पवित्र नदी आहे. कृष्णा नदीच्या काठी तुम्हाला अनेक पवित्र ठिकाणे आढळतात. kashi विश्वनाथ हे वाईमध्ये देखील उपलब्ध आहे त्यामुळे अनेक लोक वाई दक्षिण (उत्तर) काशी म्हणतात.

Wai is a famous Historical place in Satara.

Many  Historical leaders belongs to wai. Either they born or the who either stayed in wai. If we want to recollect name and check Historical novels, We come to know its started from Mahabhart – Pandav in Dvapar yoga while their exile. Next Afzalkhan (Adilshahi Sardar) and Chatrapati Shivaji maharaj meet, at that time Afzal khan visit wai. Zhashi chi rani Rani Laxmi bai’s mother stayed in a wai. अनेक ऐतिहासिक नेते वाईचे आहेत. एकतर ते जन्मले किंवा वाईमध्ये राहिले. जर आपल्याला नाव आठवायचे असेल आणि ऐतिहासिक कादंबर्‍या तपासायच्या असतील, तर त्याची सुरुवात महाभारत – पांडव यांच्या वनवासात असताना द्वापर यूगापासून झाल्याचे आपल्याला कळते. पुढे अफजलखान (आदिलशाही सरदार) आणि छत्रपती शिवाजी महाराज यांची भेट. त्या वेळी अफजलखान वाईला वास्तव्यास होता. झाशी ची राणी लक्ष्मीबाईची आई एका वाईत रहायला होती. वाई हे सातारा आणि पुण्याच्या जवळ आहे, दोन महत्त्वाच्या राजघराण्यातील एक म्हणजे छत्रपती राजा आणि दुसरे पेशवे (मंत्री) यांनी वाईच्या विकासात मोठे योगदान दिले.

Wai is also famous for its film shooting location due to Sightseeing of wai. Many old and attractive architecture available at wai  A peaceful environment and supportive people and distance from Mumbai. this is the reason that attract Bollywood filmmakers to chose wai as shooting location. one more reason that Mahabaleshwar and PANCHGANI both hill station is nearby place to visit.

वाईच्या प्रेक्षणीय स्थळांमुळे वाई हे चित्रपटाच्या शूटिंग लोकेशनसाठीही प्रसिद्ध आहे.वाई येथे अनेक जुने आणि आकर्षक वास्तू उपलब्ध आहेत शांत वातावरण आणि मदत करणारे लोक त्यावर मुंबईपासूनचे अगदी जवळचे अंतर. यामुळेच बॉलीवूड चित्रपट निर्मात्यांना चित्रीकरणाचे ठिकाण म्हणून वाईची निवड करण्यास आकर्षित झाले. आणखी एक कारण म्हणजे महाबळेश्वर आणि पाचगणी हे दोन्ही हिल स्टेशन पासुन जवळचे ठिकाण हे आहे

Personal experience Travel Guide

I visited Wai during my bike ride and family outing. We booked our hotel as soon as we reached Wai. Hotel (Dholya Ganapati Mandir) was near Mahaganapati Mandir. Good morning we visited Mahaganapati temple. It was only five minutes away from our hotel.

मी माझ्या बाईक राइड आणि कौटुंबिक सहलीदरम्यान वाईला भेट दिली. आम्ही वाईला पोहोचताच आमचे हॉटेल बुक केले. हॉटेल (ढोल्या गणपती मंदिर) महागणपती मंदिराजवळ होते. भल्या पहाटे आम्ही महागणपती मंदिराला भेट दिली. आमच्या हॉटेलपासून ते फक्त पाच मिनिटांच्या अंतरावर होते.

We saw a beautiful view Krishna river water flowing from one side and other side Krishna Ghat build by Black stone. Mahaganpati temple and Kashi Vishweshwar temple near a river bank. 

एका बाजूने कृष्णा नदीचे पाणी वाहते आणि दुसऱ्या बाजूने काळ्या दगडाने बांधलेला कृष्णा घाट असे सुंदर दृश्य आम्ही पाहिले. महागणपती मंदिर आणि नदीच्या काठी काशी विश्वेश्वर मंदिर.

Dholya Ganpati temple wai

When we enter in Mahaganpati temple we come to know why its called Dholya ganpati temple. Other name of Lord Ganpati is Lambodar. Dholya Ganpati is a similar word, We saw a big orange color statue of lord ganesh. After darshan, we visit Kashi Vishweshwar temple next to Mahaganpati. One Nandi Temple just in front of Kashi vishweshwar temple.

महागणपती मंदिरात प्रवेश केल्यावर आम्हाला कळले की त्याला ढोल्या गणपती मंदिर का म्हणतात. गणपतीचे दुसरे नाव लंबोदर आहे. ढोल्या गणपती हा एक समान शब्द आहे, आम्ही गणपतीची केशरी रंगाची मोठी मूर्ती पाहिली. मंदिराच्या आतील बाजूस फोटो काढण्यास बंदी असल्याने. आम्ही बाहेरून काढलेले हे फोटो.

दर्शनानंतर आपण महागणपतीच्या शेजारील काशी विश्वेश्वर मंदिरात गेलो. काशी विश्वेश्वर मंदिरासमोर एक नंदी मंदिर.

After darshan we meet their local person old in age to know more about wai and other sightseeing. So they provide us good information about wai and guide us that there are so many others temple available in wai. which majorly built in Peswai. 

दर्शनानंतर आम्ही वाई आणि इतर प्रेक्षणीय स्थळांबद्दल अधिक जाणून घेण्यासाठी त्यांच्या स्थानिक वृद्ध व्यक्तीला भेटतो. त्यामुळे ते आम्हाला वाई बद्दल चांगली माहिती दिली आणि आम्हाला मार्गदर्शन करतात की वाई मध्ये इतर अनेक मंदिरे उपलब्ध आहेत. जी प्रामुख्याने पेशवाईत बांधले गेली.

According to him, This type of Seven Ghats available at wai near Krishna river which build by Peshwa. We also comes to know about Pandavas also visit this place at that time this place is called Virat Nagari. They also told about Krushna mai utsav, which is a famous festival in wai. Dhom Village.

त्यांच्या मते, पेशव्यांनी बांधलेल्या कृष्णा नदीजवळ वाई येथे सात घाट उपलब्ध आहेत. पांडव देखील या ठिकाणी भेट देतात, त्यावेळी या ठिकाणाला विराट नगरी असे नाव होते. त्यांनी वाईतील प्रसिद्ध उत्सव असलेल्या कृष्णा माई उत्सवाविषयीही सांगितले.

• If you travel in group, You can book mini bus which will cost less. It’s just 229 km from Mumbai and 88 km from Pune. So it will be calculate trip 500 Km from Mumbai, 176 Km from Pune
