Marleshwar = Maral is a small village and Eswar = Lord.  Marleshwar is Place located at Maral Near Devrukh, Ratnagiri district, Maharashtra, India. It’s a reserve forest area. Famous for Loard Shiva temple situated inside small caves and for water fall which flows through out the year.

marleshwar = मरळ हे एक छोटेसे गाव आहे आणि Eswar = भगवान. मार्लेश्वर हे देवरूख जवळील मरळ, रत्नागिरी जिल्हा, महाराष्ट्र, भारत येथे स्थित आहे. हे राखीव वनक्षेत्र आहे. छोट्या गुहांच्या आत वसलेले भगवान शिव मंदिर आणि वर्षभर वाहणाऱ्या पाण्याच्या धबधब्यासाठी प्रसिद्ध.

About Marleshwar temple – मार्लेश्वर मंदिर

Marleshwar temple is a lord shiva temple. As per local people it’s made by Lord Parshuram. Avatar of lord Vishnu. It’s basically a small cave. A Sivaling inside the cave, there is no electricity in side the cave. They use only Samai and Oil lamps for light so entire ambience become golden yellow. It’s truly a different experience.

मार्लेश्वर मंदिर हे शिवमंदिर आहे. स्थानिक लोकांच्या मते हे भगवान परशुराम यांनी बनवले आहे. भगवान विष्णूचा अवतार. मुळात ती एक छोटी गुहा आहे. गुहेच्या आत एक शिवलिंग, गुहेच्या बाजूला वीज नाही. प्रकाशासाठी ते फक्त समई आणि तेलाचे दिवे वापरतात त्यामुळे संपूर्ण वातावरण सोनेरी पिवळे होते. तो खरोखर एक वेगळा अनुभव आहे.

Snakes in Marleshwar.

If we saw a lord Shiva photo, There is one cobra snake around Lord Shiva’s neck. So we know that lord Shiva ware snakes like a necklace. In Marleshwar their lots of snakes around the temple. People believe that if the person saw the snake while darshan they got a blessing from Lord Shiva. One more surprise, Lots of snakes available near the temple but they never hurt people.

जर आपण भगवान शिवाचा फोटो पाहिला तर भगवान शिवाच्या गळ्यात एक नाग आहे. म्हणून आपण जाणतो की भगवान शिव गळ्यात साप घालतात. मार्लेश्वरमध्ये मंदिराभोवती त्यांचे बरेच साप आहेत. लोकांचा असा विश्वास आहे की जर त्या व्यक्तीने दर्शन घेताना साप पाहिले तर त्यांना भगवान शंकराचा आशीर्वाद मिळाला. आणखी एक आश्चर्य, मंदिराजवळ बरेच साप उपलब्ध आहेत पण ते लोकांना कधीच इजा करत नाहीत.

We had gone to Marleshwar with my family. This was not a pre-arranged trip. We booked a car just a day before our trip and we left Mumbai early in the morning. Exploring other places along the way. We took full advantage of our vehicle, to our liking, stopping wherever we wanted and enjoying the journey to the fullest. The advantage of this was that we could see it in many places. One of the best place of Maharashtra tourism,best waterfall, religious place, tourist place, wildlife sanctuary.

आम्ही माझ्या कुटुंबासह मार्लेश्वरला गेलो होतो. ही पूर्वनियोजित सहल नव्हती. आम्ही आमच्या सहलीच्या फक्त एक दिवस आधी एक कार बुक केली आणि आम्ही पहाटे मुंबईहून निघालो. वाटेत इतर ठिकाणे एक्सप्लोर करत. आम्ही आमच्या स्वत:च्या वाहनाचा पुरेपूर फायदा घेत, आमच्या आवडीनुसार, आम्ही हवे तिथे थांबून प्रवासाचा मनमुराद आनंद लुटत होतो. याचा फायदा म्हणजे अनेक ठिकाणी आम्हाला पाहता आली.

On the way from Mumbai to Marleshwar, we chose Mumbai Goa Highway and on the way back we chose the sea route. So we made a rough plan for a 3 day two night trip. We reached Devrukh around 4:30 pm. Before that we covered several points along the way.

मुंबईहून मारलेश्वर ला जाताना, आम्ही मुंबई गोवा हायवे आणि परत येताना सागरी मार्ग मार्ग निवडला. त्यामुळे आमच्यासाठी ३ दिवसांच्या दोन रात्रीच्या सहलीसाठी आम्ही ढोबळ आराखडा आखला. सुमारे दुपारी 4:30 वाजता देवरुखला पोहोचलो. त्यापूर्वीच आम्ही मार्गावरील अनेक पॉइंट कव्हर केले.

Devrukh to Marleshwar

Devrukh to Marleshwar – Maral is about 15 to 20 kms. As there is a total forest road, there was only enough space for one vehicle at a time on one road. The road was very winding. So we thought it was an adventurous place to do adventure sports. We reached Marleshwar at about 5:15.

देवरूख ते मार्लेश्वर – मारळ सुमारे 15 ते 20 किमी आहे, एकूण जंगलातून जाणारा मार्ग असल्यामुळे एका रस्त्यावरून एका वेळी एकच वाहन जाईल एवढीच जागा होती. रस्त्यामध्ये बरीच वेडीवाकडी वळणे ही होती. त्यामुळे आम्हाला एकहे ॲडव्हेंचर स्पोर्ट्स करण्यासाठी एक साहसी ठिकाण आहे असे वाटले. आम्ही साधारण पणे 5:15 ला मार्लेश्वरला पोहोचलो.

We park our car in the Parking area. Only one more car we saw in parking because Marleshwar temple open till 6:00 to 6:15 pm. We were reached Late. so We run towards temple and climb Almost 40 steps and we reached near temple. We heard a noise of waterfall because surrounding was so silent.

मारलेश्वर ला पोहोचताच आम्ही आमची कार पार्क करून मंदिराकडे जायला निघालो. त्यावेळी फक्त एकच गाडी आम्हाला पार्किंगमध्ये दिसली कारण मार्लेश्वर मंदिर 6:00 ते 6:15 पर्यंत उघडे होते. आम्ही उशिरा पोहोचलो हे आमच्या लक्षात आलं. म्हणून आम्ही मंदिराकडे धाव घेतली आणि जवळपास 500 पायऱ्या चढून मंदिराजवळ पोहोचलो.आजूबाजूला आम्हाला खळखळणाऱ्या पाण्याचा आवाज ऐकू आला. आम्हाला धबधब्याचा आवाज ही ऐकू आला कारण आजूबाजूला अगदी निरव शांतता होती.

Kailash in Konkan – Marleshwar

We enter in a small cave and saw a beautiful Shivaling decorated with flowers there was no electricity inside the temple. The caves have their golden light which came from Oil lamps and Samai. We fill A different types of spiritual power just like kailash in konkan. We asked many questions to pujari uncle they guide us very well.

आम्ही एका छोट्या गुहेत प्रवेश केला आणि मंदिरात वीज नसताना फुलांनी सजवलेले सुंदर शिवलिंग पाहिले. लेण्यांमध्ये त्यांचा सोनेरी प्रकाश आहे जो तेलाचे दिवे आणि समई यातून आलेला आहे. कोकणातील कैलास प्रमाणेच आपण वेगळ्या प्रकारची आध्यात्मिक शक्ती भरतो. पुजारी काकांना आम्ही बरेच प्रश्न विचारले ते आम्हाला खूप चांगले मार्गदर्शन करतात.

Pujari uncle told us that if you saw a Snake here don’t be afraid it a blessing of lord shiva. They also help us for same the direct us that just to check out side the cave. When we saw their we found one small snake just head. Pujari Ji told us you are lucky that you able to get both darshan. Snake and Shivling.

पुजारी काकांनी आम्हाला सांगितले की जर तुम्हाला येथे साप दिसला तर घाबरू नका हा भगवान शिवाचा आशीर्वाद आहे. ते आम्हाला थेट गुहेच्या बाजूला तपासण्यासाठी देखील मदत करतात. जेव्हा आम्ही त्यांना पाहिले तेव्हा आम्हाला एक लहान साप फक्त डोके दिसला. पुजारीजींनी आम्हाला सांगितले की तुम्ही भाग्यवान आहात की तुम्हाला दोन्ही दर्शन घेता आले. नाग आणि शिवलिंग.

Steps of Marleshwar temple – Travel guide

To reach the temple, one usually has to go up five hundred steps. There are a lot of shops around. You can find soft drinks and other items here. In some places leaf sheds have also been built. Which can protect you from the sun as well as rain in the rainy season. After climbing five hundred steps, we see the cave of Sri Marleshwar. From there, after descending a few steps, you can reach Dhareshwar Falls.

मंदिराकडे जाण्यासाठी साधारणपणे पाचशे पायऱ्या चढून वरती जावे लागते. आजूबाजूला अनेक दुकानांची रेलचेल आहे. आपणास शीतपेये खाण्याच्या वस्तू आणि इतर सामान येथे मिळू शकेल. काही जागी पत्र्याच्या शेड ही बांधले गेले आहेत. ज्यामुळे उन्हापासून तसेच पावसाळ्यात पावसापासून आपले रक्षण होऊ शकते. पाचशे पायऱ्या चढून गेल्यानंतर आपल्याला श्री मार्लेश्वराच्या गुहेचे दर्शन घडते. तिथुनच पुढे काही पायर्‍या उतरून गेल्यानंतर धारेश्वर धबधब्याला जाता येते.

Dhareshwar Waterfall – Marleshwar

This waterfall is also known as Dhareshwar water fall just opposite Marleshwar temple – Maral, Near devrukh, Sangameshwar taluka, one of the famous tourist place in Ratnagiri district Maharashtra, India.

हा धबधबा मार्लेश्वर मंदिरासमोरील धारेश्वर वॉटर फॉल म्हणूनही ओळखला जातो – मारळ, देवरूख जवळ, संगमेश्वर तालुका, रत्नागिरी जिल्ह्यातील महाराष्ट्र, भारतातील एक प्रसिद्ध पर्यटन स्थळ आहे.

The perennial waterfall flows very fast in the rainy season so there are restrictions on access to water at this time. Because it is very dangerous. Marleshwar Doh is a place formed by the force of water. Due to the constant flow of water, deep space is created by digging stones. According to the locals, the place is so deep that no one has been able to measure the depth till date

बारमाही असणारा धबधबा पावसाळ्यात अतिशय वेगाने वाहतो त्यामुळे यावेळी पाण्याजवळ जाण्यासाठी निर्बंध असतात. कारण ते खूप धोकादायक आहे. मार्लेश्वर डोह हे पाण्याच्या जोरामुळे बनलेले ठिकाण आहे. सतत पाण्याच्या जोरामुळे दगड खणून खोल जागा तयार होते. स्थानिक लोकांच्या म्हणण्यानुसार ही जागा इतकी खोल आहे की आजपर्यंत कोणालाही खोली मोजता आलेली नाही.

When we saw The Dhareswar waterfall, we fill just like Ganga river came from Lord Sivas hair to meet earth. Its a Kailash in konkan.

जेव्हा आम्ही धारेश्वर धबधबा पाहिला तेव्हा जसे गंगा नदी भगवान शिवाच्या केसातून पृथ्वीला भेटायला आली तसे भासले. हे कोकणातील कैलास आहे.

• Visit Marleshwar before 5:00 pm and return at list before 6:15 because its a forest area there are no garage or house on the way so for safety live early.

• Food court is not available you may get tea stall or snacks corner.
• Many pot holes near Dhareshwar water fall so be careful.
• There are many snakes available in Marleshwar be careful while walking.
