Information – about Mount Abu

Mount Abu is a hill station located in Shirohi district of Rajasthan India. Located near Gujarat and Rajasthan border.

माउंट अबू हे राजस्थान येथील भारतातील शिरोही जिल्ह्यात स्थित एक हिल स्टेशन आहे. गुजरात आणि राजस्थान सीमेजवळ स्थित आहे.

Highest point of the Aravali Mountains

It is the only hill station in Rajasthan. Mount Abu is a small town and is located right around the lake. Hence it is also called the city of lakes. This is the highest point of Mount Aravali. In the past, the kings and emperors of Rajasthan used to come and stay here in summer because Rajasthan is very hot in summer, to save their families from overcrowding in Rajasthan.

हे राजस्थानमधील एकमेव हिल स्टेशन आहे. माउंट अबू हे एक लहान शहर आणि नक्की तलावाच्या आसपास वसलेले आहे. त्यामुळे याला तलावाचे शहर असेही म्हणतात. हा अरवली पर्वताचा सर्वोच्च बिंदू आहे. पूर्वी, राजस्थानचे राजे आणि सम्राट उन्हाळ्यात येथे येऊन राहायचे कारण राजस्थान उन्हाळ्यात खूप गरम असते, आपल्या कुटुंबांना राजस्थानच्या अतिदक्षतापासून वाचवण्यासाठी.

Mount Abu Spiritual place – आध्यात्मिक स्थान

It’s also known as a Spiritual place therefore, many Hindu Dharmagurus and their institutions are situated in Mount Abu.  Dattatraya, Swami Vivekananda, Kanyakumari Aashram, Dilwara Temple of Jain samaj indicate the power of spirituality.

Mumbai to Mount abu bike ride Experience

I remember the 15th August holiday and that was added to a Sunday. We always look forward to such holidays. They are like an invitation for us to plan our long journey. We planned our Mount Abu ride. It is about 700+ km from Mumbai. So, during the rainy season, one had to ride the bike day and night. I discussed it with two of my rider friends who agreed to come with me. We were 3 riders, covered 1600 Km in 2 days and 3 night along with all beautiful places and meet our friend on the way.

मला आठवते 15 ऑगस्ट ची सुट्टी आणी तीही रविवारला जोडून आलेली. आम्ही नेहमी अशा सुट्ट्यांची वाट पाहत असतो. ते आमच्यासाठी आमच्या लांबच्या प्रवासाचे नियोजन करण्यासाठी आमंत्रणासारखे आहेत. आम्ही आमच्या माऊंट अबू राइडची योजना आखली. हे मुंबईपासून सुमारे ७००+ किमी अंतरावर आहे. त्यामुळे पावसाळ्यात दिवस रात्र बाइक चालवावी लागणार होती. मी माझ्या दोन रायडर मित्रांशी चर्चा केली त्यांनी माझ्यासोबत येण्यास होकार दिला.आम्ही 3 रायडर्स होतो, 2 दिवस आणि 3 रात्री 1600 किमी अंतर सर्व सुंदर ठिकाणांसह पूर्ण केले आणि वाटेत आमच्या मित्राला ही भेटलो.

We started our bike ride from Mumbai after our office hours, before which all our preparations were done. Our intention for this ride is to focus more on our less expenses and better management of our time. Because sightseeing and 1600 km bike ride in 3 days is not an easy task.

आम्ही आमच्या कार्यालयीन वेळेनंतर मुंबईहून आमच्या बाइक रायड ला सुरुवात केली, त्यापूर्वी आमची सर्व तयारी पूर्ण झाली होती. आमचे कमी खर्च आणि आमच्या वेळेच् योग्य व्यवस्थापनावर अधिक लक्ष केंद्रित करण्याचा या राइडचा आमचा हेतू आहे. कारण 3 दिवसात 1600 किमी अंतर प्रेक्षणीय स्थळ पाहणे सोपे काम न्हवते.

  • On the way back we choose Godhara route.

Till Vapi roads was smooth, The road from Vapi to Surat was very bad. but after Vapi to Surat roads was badly damage many times potholes fill with water we can’t even judge till we cross that, so we enjoyed full of off-road condition till morning. We reach Ahmedabad in afternoon, one of my friend Mr. Bhavesh invite us for Lunch. We meet him and enjoy delicious Gujarati thali. After lunch we move towards Maunt abu.

While covering distance Ahmedabad to Mount Abu. It was raining a lot so we were unable to see road properly and bad road condition add additional difficulties. We reached near Abu road at 12:30 pm. After Abu Road main trail was started.

Maunt abu ghat – in Night travel guide

As you know Maunt Abu is a Dark forest. Just think, If you are riding alone through a gorge in the dark night. Your headlight is only support you for find your road. What a adventurous movement almost 20 km Ghat. You are turning your bike on every circular corner. You don’t know what is next.

Yes we experience this, I like raiding in Ghat and cornering so I move bit ahead from my other two rider friends. This pass – Ghat is different than other because normally Indian Ghat are in “S” shape turn so it’s easy to ride. You know the next turn. But in Mount Abu every turn are in circular shape. So its something unique and amazing experience.

Child air with sprinkling rain added more thrill in my ride, I enjoyed each and every corner of ghat specially those corner, where I heard water noise. Coming from small waterfall. The serpentine turn in the valley was extremely impressive.

After finishing ghat, I reach mount abu entrance. A beautifully designed welcome gate, And toll Plaza. There is a toll for every vehicle even for Bikes.

Camping – near Bear dens Mount Abu

After entering in Maunt Abu. We search a place to set our tent so move towards Gurushikhar road after crossing the market area. I found one small temple below the big tree, Well maintained place so we planned to set our tent. We fell asleep immediately due to the exhaustion of the day. So we put our luggage in the tent sleep immediately.

माऊंट अबू मध्ये प्रवेश केल्यानंतर. आम्‍ही आमचा तंबू लावण्‍यासाठी जागा शोधतो, म्‍हणून बाजार परिसर ओलांडल्‍यावर गुरुशिखर रोडकडे जा. मला मोठ्या झाडाखाली एक छोटंसं मंदिर दिसलं, नीट सांभाळलेली जागा म्हणून आम्ही आमचा तंबू लावायचा ठरवला. दिवसभराच्या थकव्यामुळे आम्ही लगेच झोपी गेलो. म्हणून आम्ही आमचे सामान ताबडतोब झोपण्याच्या तंबूत ठेवले.

In the morning the priest came to the temple to worship. We woke up and started to repackaged our things and tent. The temple priest asked us, Have you seen or bothered by bears at night. We were shocked and asked them. He told us that two bears stay or pass this place every night. He even shared his personal experience about Bear attack. We thanked God and quietly left from that place.

Nakki Lake

Nakki lake is an important place in Mount Abu because all the important Tourist places situated around Nakki Lake. You can enjoy boating in Nakki lake. Selfie point is also available near Nakki lake. Toad Rock

Toad Rock is a point just opposite side of selfie point. It’s a big rock look like toad. Many people visit this place as tourist spots.

Wildlife Sanctuary वन्यजीव अभयारण्य

Wildlife Sanctuary is available near Mount abu, park timing 9 am to 5:30 pm, 18 km away from Mount Abu.

वन्यजीव अभयारण्य माउंट अबू जवळ उपलब्ध आहे, पार्कची वेळ सकाळी 9 ते संध्याकाळी 5:30 पर्यंत, माउंट अबूपासून 18 किमी अंतरावर आहे.

Sunset point –

Sunset point is near tord rock, you have to visit this place by walking or with horse riding. View of sunset point is very beautiful.

सूर्यास्त बिंदू टॉर्ड रॉक जवळ आहे, तुम्हाला चालत किंवा घोडेस्वारीने या ठिकाणी भेट द्यावी लागेल. सूर्यास्त बिंदूचे दृश्य अतिशय सुंदर आहे.

Dilwara Temples

Dilwara Temples is oldest temple. It’s a example of unique architecture and also the great example of ancient Jain culture Located in the city.

Gurushikhar

Gurushikhar is one of the important spiritual place. Famous for Lord Datta Temple. located on the hill top so the road towards Gurushikhar is very beautiful and scenic. I will make another blog for Gurushikar.

Market Area

If you like shopping, then this the area for you located near Nakki Lake. you will get Rajasthan traditional ornament and many products are made by marvel.

Honeymoon point

Honeymoon point is a view point just before Sunset point you can see a beautiful Valley and nakki lake view from this point.

Achalgad fort

Achalgad fort and village is place on the way to Guru shikhar road. It’s a place where kings of Rajasthan and their family stayed in Summer. It is a great example of an ancient culture.

Public transport

If you want to travel by public transport, Aburoad is nearest railway station You can get local transportation from Abu road. If you want to travel by road you can get direct bus from any city of Rajastan and Gujarat. More frequency is available from Udaipur.
