Hello friends welcome to my another travel blog. This time we are going To visit Kumbe waterfall and  Kumbe tunnel. Which is just 4 to 5 hours distance from Mumbai. In this blog, you will get information about Kumbhe tourist place. We are sharing our personal experience, some useful tips, how to reach kumbhe some beautiful photos. This will help you as Travel Guide. So you can plan your trip.

Information – Travel Guide

Kumbhe – Kumbh = Aquarius is an earthen vessel. The place where nature gave water from innumerable aquariuses which become a waterfall and fall down from the mountain to meet the Earth. This is the place of water fall and full of natural beauty.

Kumbhe is a small village in Mangaon. taluka district Raigad. It’s a less know place so full of more natural beauty and with peace. It’s famous for waterfall and tunnel. located in the foothills near Raigad fort and the foothills of Sahyadri Mountain range.

कुंभे – कुंभ = कुंभ हे मातीचे भांडे आहे. ते ठिकाण जिथे निसर्गाने असंख्य कुंभान मधून पाणी दिले जे धबधबा रूपाने पृथ्वीला भेटण्यासाठी डोंगरावरून खाली पडत आहे. हे पाणी पडण्याचे ठिकाण आणि नैसर्गिक सौंदर्याने परिपूर्ण आहे.

कुंभे हे माणगावमधील एक छोटेसे गाव आहे. तालुका जिल्हा रायगड. नैसर्गिक सौंदर्याने आणि शांततेने भरलेले हे कमी माहीत असलेले ठिकाण आहे. हे धबधबा आणि बोगद्यासाठी प्रसिद्ध आहे. रायगड किल्ल्याजवळ आणि सह्याद्री पर्वताच्या पायथ्याशी वसलेले आहे.

This place is Near to Mangad fort which made by Chatrapti Shivaji maharaj and Just 36 km away from away from Raigad fort.

हे ठिकाण छत्रपती शिवाजी महाराजांनी बनवलेल्या मानगड किल्ल्याजवळ आणि रायगड किल्ल्यापासून अवघ्या ३६ किमी अंतरावर आहे.

Personal experience – Bike ride

We visited this place while our bike ride Mumbai to Kashedi ghat. Planned a solo trip so this time I choosed a different  location and route.

मुंबई ते कशेडी बाइक राईड दरम्यान या ठिकाणी गेलो होतो. नेहमी प्रमाणे सहलीचे नियोजन केले त्यामुळे यावेळी मी वेगळे ठिकाण आणि मार्ग निवडला.

Route and Directions

I started from Mumbai via Mumbai Goa highway an reached Mangaon and take right turn near Mangaon bus depot, and move towards Nijampur. After reaching nijampur. I asked local people about kumbhe route because is a small road and many time our map become more confusing so better to recheck time to time. Local shows me a accurate directions. So I move towards Kumbhe -Pachad road and take a left turn towards Mangad fort.

मी मुंबईहून मुंबई गोवा महामार्गाने प्रवासाला सुरूवात केली आणि माणगावला पोहोचलो. आणि माणगाव बस डेपोजवळ उजवे वळण घेऊन निजामपूरकडे निघालो. निजामपूरला पोहोचल्यावर. मी स्थानिक लोकांना कुंभे मार्गाबद्दल विचारले कारण एक छोटा रस्ता आहे आणि अनेक वेळा आपला नकाशा अधिक गोंधळात टाकणारा बनतो. त्यामुळे वेळोवेळी पुन्हा मार्ग तपासणे चांगले. स्थानिक लोकांनी मला अचूक दिशा दाखवली. त्यामुळे मी कुंभे-पाचाड रस्त्याकडे जाताना, कुंभे आणि मानगड किल्ल्याकडे डावीकडे वळण घेतले.

After this turn A little narrow road started, I again asked a local person, that where is a kumbhe. He guided me with his fingers It was the top of a mountain. I was so happy when I saw it. Road conditions were bad, but it did not affect my happiness of riding.

I started climbing the mountain, After riding 2 kilometers, the first waterfall was visible. I parked my motorcycle in front of that waterfall and enjoyed the same scenic view. thereafter I moved on towards kumbhe.

या वळणानंतर थोडा अरुंद रस्ता सुरू झाला, मी पुन्हा एका स्थानिक व्यक्तीला विचारले, कुंभे कुठे आहे. त्याने मला त्याच्या बोटांनी मार्गदर्शन केले ते डोंगराचे शिखर होते. ते पाहून मला खूप आनंद झाला. रस्त्याची परिस्थिती वाईट होती, पण त्याचा माझ्या राइडिंगच्या आनंदावर परिणाम झाला नाही.

Road conditions were not so good but But the deep valleys that come at the turn cheering my mind. It was such a fascinating sight after completing 13 km distance from nijampur finally I reached Kumbhe Tunnel.

रस्त्याची परिस्थिती तशी चांगली नव्हती पण वळणावर येणाऱ्या खोल दर्‍या मनाला आनंद देतात. निजामपूरपासून १३ किमीचे अंतर पार करून शेवटी कुंभे बोगद्यावर पोहोचलो ते खूप विलोभनीय दृश्य होते.

A beautiful tunnel made by local people for easy transportation. Approximately two hundred meters long tunnels look so beautiful. You can saw other side of tunnel which look like a small hole.

सुलभ वाहतुकीसाठी स्थानिक लोकांनी बनवलेला एक सुंदर बोगदा. अंदाजे दोनशे मीटर लांब बोगदा खूप सुंदर दिसतो. आपण बोगद्याची दुसरी बाजू पाहू शकता जी लहान छिद्रासारखी दिसते.

Adventure – उत्कंठा वाढविणारा प्रवास

To pass through this tunnel was an adventure movement meant for me. because there no light inside the tunnel. There was no cement-plaster used so it’s just like moving through caves. When I reach the middle of the tunnel I stopped and saw light coming from both side is look like two-person showing their batteries to guide me.

या बोगद्यातून जाणे ही माझ्यासाठी उत्कंठा वाढविणारा प्रवास होता. कारण बोगद्याच्या आत प्रकाश नसून, तिथे सिमेंट-प्लास्टर ही वापरलेले नव्हते त्यामुळे ते गुहेतून फिरण्यासारखे आहे. जेव्हा मी बोगद्याच्या मध्यभागी पोहोचलो तेव्हा मी थांबलो आणि दोन्ही बाजूंनी प्रकाश येताना दिसला आणी असा भास झाला की दोन व्यक्ती मला मार्गदर्शन करण्यासाठी दोहोंबाजूने त्यांच्या बॅटरी चा प्रकाश दाखवत आहेत.

When I reached the end of tunnel. Tunnel awarded me with fresh water bath which fill me like Consecration. It’s an amazing experience which in never forgot in my life.

जेव्हा मी बोगद्याच्या शेवटचा भाग पार करत होतो. त्यावेळी बोगद्याने जणू मला ताज्या पाण्याने स्नान घातले. जे मला अभिषेक होत आहे सारखे वाटले. हा एक अद्भुत अनुभव आहे जो माझ्या आयुष्यात कधीही विसरता येणार नाही.

Kumbhe Waterfall Travel guide

There are two points

1) Kumbhe view point

2) Kumbhe water fall top view

Kumbhe waterfall view point

Kumbhe view point is a place just 1.5 km away from the Kumbhe water fall. Towards a hill top. You can saw many more waterfall and green Valley view from this place.

I park my bike on hill top and start waking towards view point their is no road only small natural dirt road, It’s bit risky and slippery so be careful. This is small village and less know place so their was no protection wall all railing near view point for safety.

I walk very carefully, especially on slippery roads. All of a sudden rain was started heavily so nothing was visible due to Fog. I wait for some time but the rain was not ready to stop. After a while, the rain subsided So it’s time to move on.

When I reached that place, I saw a beautiful valley appeared in front of me. It’s a scenic spot surrounded by multiple waterfalls,  Water falling dawn through the rocks which look like milky White. I move towards main kumbhe waterfall.

Kumbhe waterfall has a big water flow, water is falling around 100 ft and above. Due to fog many times it’s disappeared. I set my tripod and take some images and videos.

This is the place from where the waterfall begins. Water flow came from a small stream run towards the valley and convert in waterfall.

You can’t see actual view of kumbhe from this site so you have to visit kumbhe view point.

How to reach

This is unknown or less known place so direct public transport is not available. So if you want to travel by public transport you have to rich Mangaon or Nijampur so you can get other transport options just like auto.

 

Tips and Guidance

  • Kumbhe is small village so direct public transport is not available.
  • Chose any waterfall on the way while climbing Kumbhe ghat because Kumbhe water fall is more for view.
  • There are two route to visit
    • from Kolhad route is more off-roading one of my group BBC riders use this route they have bad experience.
    • I used Magnon route which way better than first one.
  • Raigad is nearby place you can visit Pachad – Jijamata Sharak this route is very scenic you can even chose this route while visiting Raigad fort.
  • Food court is not available Kumbhe so you can take food parcel from Nijampur and Mangaon.
  • Hill point is a little bit risky point, don’t over exited, Its a slippery place and no wall or safety reeling are available.
