History of Thiba palace – थिबा राजवाड्याचा इतिहास

King Thiba was the king of Burma. Burma is today’s Myanmar. This is an independent prehistoric thing. King Thiba revolted against the British rule, so the British captured him and brought him to Ratnagiri via Madras. King Thiba’s residence was at Ratnagiri. Thiba Palace 30 years later, till his death.

राजे थिबा हे ब्रम्हदेशाचे राजा होते. ब्रम्हदेश म्हणजे आजचा म्यानमार. ही स्वतंत्र पूर्व काळातील गोष्ट आहे. राजे थिबा यांनी इंग्रज सत्तेविरुद्ध बंड पुकारले त्यामुळे इंग्रजांनी त्यांना नजरकैद करून मद्रास मार्गे रत्नागिरी येथे आणले. पुढे तब्बल 30 वर्षे म्हणजेच त्यांच्या मृत्यू पर्यंत. राजे थिबा यांचे वास्तव्य हे रत्नागिरी येथेच होते. राजाला राहण्यासाठी इंग्रज आणी ब्रम्हदेशाचे वास्तू विशारद यांनी एकत्रितपणे उभी केलेली एक अजरामर वास्तू म्हणजे थिबा पॅलेस ( थिबा यांचा राजवाडा)

The journey of Thiba Palace to the museum – थिबा पॅलेस ची राजवाडा ते संग्रहालय अशी वाटचाल.

The palace, built for King Thiba, was in good condition as long as the king was alive. After the death of King Thiba, his second queen decided to bring the body of the kingdom to Burdesh. But the British government did not allow it. Due to this desperate queen, the queen performed all the rituals in Ratnagiri and left for Burdesh. After that, the palace collapsed due to lack of repairs.

राजा थिबा यांच्या साठी बांधलेला हा राजवाडा राजा हयात असे पर्यंत सुस्थितीत होता. राजा थिबाच्या निधनानंतर त्याची दुसरी राणी हिने राज्याचे मृतदेह ब्रह्देशात न्यायचे ठरवलेले. पण तत्कालीन इंग्रज सरकारने त्यास परवानगी दिली नाही. त्यामुळे हताश राणीने होऊन राणीने सर्व विधी रत्नागिरीतच करुन ब्रह्देशात निघून गेली. त्यानंतर डागडुजी नसल्या मुळे राजवाड्याची पडझड झाली.

A few years ago, the descendants of King Thiba came to Ratnagiri to see the last memories of their king. They were saddened by the state of the palace. And he requested the central government of India to take care of the palace. To preserve their sentiments and a historical monument, he decided to build a museum of regional objects in the palace.

काही वर्षापूर्वी थिबा राजाचे वंशज यांनी त्यांच्या राजाच्या शेवटच्या आठवणी पाहण्यासाठी रत्नागिरी येथे आले. राजवाड्याची दुरवस्था पाहून ते फार दुःखी झाले. आणी त्यांनी भारतीय केंद्रसरकारला राजवाड्याची जपणूक करण्यासाठी विनंती केली. त्यांच्या भावनांचा आणि एका ऐतिहासिक वास्तू che जतन करण्यासाठी या राजवाड्यात प्रादेशिक वस्तूचे संग्रहालय बनवण्याचा निर्णय घेतला.

Architecture of Thiba palace – थिबा राजवाड्याची वास्तुकला

Thiba Palace is a timeless monument erected jointly by English and Burmese architects. For this reason, many aspects of English and Brahma architectural art come to the fore in the design of this palace. In it, the two-storied construction of Jamba stone from Konkan i.e. Chira.

Sloping roofs, more than twenty rooms in total, and two to three large halls. The use of Burmatic wood in doors and windows. Wooden stairs. Architectural and well-ventilated. Two gardens and their fountains. All the royal attire would fit in 27 acres.

इंग्रज आणी ब्रम्हदेशाचे वास्तू विशारद यांनी एकत्रितपणे उभी केलेली एक अजरामर वास्तू म्हणजे थिबा पॅलेस. या कारणास्तव या राजवाड्याच्या रचने मध्ये इंग्रजी आणी ब्रम्ह देशीय वास्तू कलेचे अनेक पैलू समोर येतात. त्यात कोकणातील जांभा दगड म्हणजेच चिरा याचे दुमजली बांधकाम.

निमुळत्या कौलांचे छत, एकूण वीसहून  अधिक खोल्या, आणी दोन ते तीन हॉल मोठे हॉल (दालनं). दरवाजे आणी खिडक्यांमध्ये दिसणारा समुद्र किनारी चा प्रदेश. त्यावर केलेला बरमाटीक लाकडाचा वापर. लाकडाचे जिने. हवेशीर आणी पुरेसा सूर्यप्रकाश सर्वत्र येईल अशी वास्तूरचना. दोन उद्याने आणी त्यातील शोभिवंत कारंजे. सर्वच राजेशाही थाटास साजेल असे 27 एकर जागेतील बांधकाम.

Personal experience to Visit Thiba palace – Travel Guide

We were visited Thiba Palace during our Ratnagiri and Konkan trips. Thiba palace is Located at a distance of 2 to 3 kms from Ratnagiri city, this palace has become tourists attraction in Ratnagiri tourism. It is currently being converted into a museum.

आम्ही आमच्या रत्नागिरी आणी कोंकणातील ट्रीप दरम्यान थिबा पॅलेसला भेट दिली. रत्नागिरी शहरापासून अगदी 2 ते 3 किलोमीटर अंतरावर असलेला हा राजवाडा म्हणजे रत्नागिरीत येणार्‍या पर्यटकांचे आकर्षण केंद्र बनला आहे. सध्या याचे रूपांतर एका संग्रहालयात करण्यात आले आहे.

The current situation of Thiba palace- सध्याची परिस्थिती

Thiba Palace is still standing like beautiful and  proudly Palace. From the outside, he was aware of his past glory. Spacious courtyard and spacious palace on it. As we toured around here, one noticed that the other halls, apart from the main one, were in a deplorable state. In the main hall is the museum. Tourists are allowed to enter this hall and some parts of its first floor. Just 10 to 15 minutes is enough to see.

थिबा पॅलेस हा आजही तेवढ्याच दिमाखात उभा आहे. बाहेरून पाहता त्याच्या गतवैभवाची जाणीव होते. प्रशस्त प्रांगण आणी त्यावर  तेवढाच प्रशस्त राजवाडा. आम्ही येथे सभोवताली फेरफटका मारला तेव्हा एक लक्षात आले की मुख्य दालन सोडून इतर दालनांची थोडी दयनीय अवस्था आहे. मुख्य दालनात वस्तू संग्रहालय आहे. हे दालन व त्याच्या पहिल्या मजल्याच्या काही भागात पर्यटकांना प्रवेशास मुभा आहे. जे पाहण्यास फक्तं 10 te 15 मिनिटे पुरेशी आहेत.

Museum of Regional Objects

The museum is made up of only five to six rooms between the ground floor and the first floor. It includes regional objects, some of the king’s objects, his oil paintings, mainly the idols of Sangameshwar, the ancient temple at Ratnagiri. Some utensils, such items are on display. We haven’t done any photography here since it is prohibited. Ten to fifteen minutes is enough to tour the entire museum. Eighty percent of the palace are not open for tourism.

तळमजला आणी पहिला मजला यातील अवघ्या पाच ते सहा खोल्यांमध्ये हे संग्रहालय बनवले गेले आहे. यात प्रादेशिक वस्तू, राजाच्या वापरातील काही वस्तू, त्यांचे तैलचित्र, सभोवतालच्या मुख्यत्वे करून संगमेश्वर, रत्नागिरीतील पुरातन मंदिरातील मूर्ती. काही भांडी, अश्या प्रकारच्या वस्तूंचे प्रदर्शन मांडण्यात आले आहे. फोटो काढण्यासाठी बंदी असल्याने त्याचा मान ठेऊन आम्ही येथील कोणतेही छायाचित्रण केले नाही. संपूर्ण संग्रहालय फिरण्यासाठी दहा ते पंधरा मिनिटे पुरेशी आहेत. राजवाड्याच्या ऐंशी टक्के जागा ही आज ही पर्यटनासाठी खुली करण्यात आली नाही.
