During our Konkan trip to Sangameshwar Ratnagiri we visited the birthplace of Lokmanya Tilak. We traveled via Mumbai Goa highway. First we visited to Sangameshwar and saw some 1ooo years old temples after which we proceeded to Ratnagiri. We visited many places in Ratnagiri district like Thiba Palace, Ratnadurg Fort, Ganapatipule, Marleshwar. संगमेश्वर रत्नागिरीच्या आमच्या कोकण प्रवासादरम्यान आम्ही लोकमान्य टिळकांच्या जन्मस्थानाला भेट दिली. आम्ही मुंबई गोवा महामार्गावरून प्रवास केला. प्रथम आम्ही संगमेश्वरला भेट दिली आणि सुमारे 1ooo वर्षे जुनी मंदिरे पाहिली त्यानंतर आम्ही रत्नागिरीकडे निघालो. आम्ही रत्नागिरी जिल्ह्यातील थिबा पॅलेस, रत्नदुर्ग किल्ला, गणपतीपुळे, मार्लेश्वर अशी अनेक ठिकाणे पाहिली. त्यानंतर आम्ही लोकमान्य टिळकांच्या जन्मस्थानाला आणि स्मारकाला भेट दिली त्यामुळे तेथील अनुभव व सद्यस्थिती आपल्या आपल्या बरोबर शेअर करीत आहे. तुम्हाला त्याचा नक्की फायदा होईल अशी आशा बाळगतो.

Lokmanya Tilak Birthplace
Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak was born on 23 July 1856 at Chikhali in Ratnagiri district. His father Gangadhar Tilak was a teacher. Till the age of 10, Tilak lived in this house in Ratnagiri. Later, along with his family, he migrated to Pune and settled down.
लोकमान्य बाळ गंगाधर टिळक यांचा जन्म 23 July 1856 रोजी याचा जन्म रत्नागिरी जिल्ह्यात चिखली येथे झाला. त्यांचे वडील गंगाधर टिळक हे शिक्षक होते. वयाच्या 10 वर्षापर्यंत टिळकांनी या रत्नागिरी येथील घरात वास्तव्य केले. पुढे आपल्या कुटुंबीयांच्या सोबत ते पुणे येथे स्थलांतरित होऊन स्थाईक झाले.

लोकमान्य टिळक यांचे राहते घर रत्नागिरी या जिल्ह्यात आहे. सुमारे 100 वर्षा पूर्वीचे घर आजही सुस्थित आहे. सध्या या घराचे रूपांतर संग्रहालय करण्यात आले असून लोकमान्य टिळक यांच्या जतन केलेल्या काही दुर्मिळ वस्तू, लेख, त्यांच्या बद्दलची माहीती या ठिकाणी पाहण्यास मिळते.
