Sri Chang Vateswar temple is dedicated lord Shiva was established by Sri Changdev Maharaj. The legend of this temple is that Sri Changdev Maharaj was a Hat Yogi. He was a devoted devotee of Lord Shiva. To serve him regularly, the disciples used to make new Shivlingas. One such Shiv Linga appeared on a black stone. Since he was self-sufficient in all respects, Changdev Maharaja built his temple and worshiped him regularly.
श्री चांग वटेश्वर हे मंदिर भगवान शिव शंकरास समर्पित आहे. या मंदिराची स्थापना ही श्री चांगदेव महाराज यांनी केली. या मंदिराची आख्यायिका अशी सांगितली जाते की, श्री चांगदेव महाराज हे हट् योगी होते. ते शिव शंकराचे निस्सीम भक्त ही होते. त्याची नित्य सेवा करण्यासाठी शिष्य गण नवीन शिवलिंग बनवत असत. असेच एक शिवलिंग एका काळ्या दगडावर दिसून आले. ते सर्वार्थाने स्वयंभू असल्याने चांगदेव महाराजानी त्याचे मंदिर बांधले आणी त्याची नित्य उपासना केली.

A message in that regard was sent to Dnyaneshwar Maharaj through the disciples. Saint Shiromani Dnyaneshwar Maharaj preached Changdev Pasashti in OV Baddha to such a Maha Yogi Changdev. Also sitting on the lifeless wall, he met Changdev Maharaj and made Changdev Maharaj proud and further made his younger sister Sant Muktabai as Changdev Maharaj’s guru. Which made Changdev Maharaj’s way of liberation easier.

एकदिवस ज्ञानेश्वर महाराजांची कीर्ती ऐकून चांगदेव महाराज आपल्या भक्त समूहाच्या सोबत वाघावर स्वार होऊन ज्ञानेश्वर महाराजांच्या भेटीस जाण्याचे ठरवले. त्या संदर्भातला निरोप शिष्यांच्या द्वारे ज्ञानेश्वर महाराजांना पाठवला. अश्या महा योगी चांगदेव यांना संत शिरोमणी ज्ञानेश्वर महाराजांनी चांगदेव पासष्टी हा ओवी बद्ध उपदेश केला. तसेच निर्जीव अश्या भिंतीवर बसुन त्यांनी चांगदेव महाराज यांची भेट घेतली आणी चांगदेव महाराजांचे गर्वहरण केले व पुढे त्यांची लहान बहीण संत मुक्ताबाई यांना चांगदेव महाराजांची गुरू बनवले. ज्यामुळे चांगदेव महाराजांचा मुक्तीचा मार्ग सुकर झाला.

आमच्या सासवड बाइक राईड दरम्यान आम्ही चांग वटेश्वर मंदिरास भेट दिली होती. सासवड पुरंदर रोड पासून थोडे आतल्या बाजूस गेल्यानंतर एक सभोवतालचा सुंदर निसर्ग सौंदर्याने व्यापलेला परिसर समोर आला. तेथेच शेजारी पार्किंगची उत्तम सोय आहे. तेथून चांग वटेश्वर मंदिराचे मुख्यद्वार स्पष्ट दिसून येते. मंदिर परिसरात बरीच प्री वेडिंग शूटिंग करणारी अनेक मंडळी आम्ही पाहिली. मराठी चित्रपट “वळू” याचे बरेच शूटिंग तसेच इतर हिंदी मराठी सिनेमा आणी मालिकांचं येथे चित्रीकरण झाले आहे.
From the main gate, we climbed a few steps and reached the temple. And we saw an amazing sculpture of Vastu art standing in front of us. Such a beautiful temple, amazing carvings, each and every carving carved in black stone. The beautiful culmination of the temple, the darshan of Hemadpanti Vastu art was taking place here. Very beautiful crafts were seen on the walls of the temple. All in all, an amazing Vastu sculpture has been offered to this society by Changdev Maharaj and Peshwas.
मुख्य दरवाज्यातून काही पायर्‍या चढून मंदिराकडे पोहोचलो. आणी वास्तू कलेचे अप्रतिम शिल्प आमच्या समोर उभे असलेले दिसले. सुंदर असे मंदिर, अप्रतिम नक्षीकाम, एक एक नक्षी अगदी काळ्या पाषाणात कोरलेली. मंदिराचा सुंदर असा कळस, हेमाडपंती वास्तू कलेचे दर्शन येथे घडत होते. मंदिराच्या भिंतींवर फार सुंदर कलाकुसर दिसत होती. एकूणच पाहता एक अप्रतिम वास्तु शिल्प चांगदेव महाराज आणी पेशव्यांनी या समाजास अर्पण केले आहे.
After entering the temple, one can first see Nandi. We entered the main hall of the temple seeing the many pillars and the many sculptures on them. And through the wooden door in front, the beautiful statue of Lord Shiva was visible. Since the mirror is placed on top of the pindi, the flower arrangement on the pindi looks very beautiful and attractive. We came out of the temple with the darshan of Bhagwan Shiva.
मंदिराच्या आत गेल्यावर प्रथम नंदि चे दर्शन घेता येते. अनेक खांब आणी त्यावरची फार शिल्प कला पाहत आम्ही मंदिराच्या मुख्य सभामंडपात प्रवेश केला. आणी समोरच असलेल्या लाकडी दरवाज्यातून भगवान शिवाची सुंदर अशी पिंडी नजरेस पडली. पिंडीच्या वर आरसा बसवला असल्याने पिंडीवर केलेली फुलांची आरास फार सुंदर आणी तेव्हढीच आकर्षक वाटते. Bhagvan शिवाचे दर्शन घेऊन आम्ही मंदिराच्या बाहेर आलो.

मंदिर परिसरात अनेक छोटी मोठी मंदिरे आहेत. एकंदर परिसर स्वच्छ आणी उत्तम देखरेखीखाली असल्याचे जाणवते. नुकताच मंदिराचे डागडुजी झाली आहे. याचे संपूर्ण श्रेय येथील मंदिर समितीला द्यावे लागेल. की त्यांनी ही ऐतिहासिक आणी आध्यात्मिक धरोहर येवढ्या चांगल्या पद्धतीने जतन केली आहे.
