This waterfall near from Mumbai comes in the village of Garpoli near the Bhivpuri Road railway station of the Central Railway. Importantly, this waterfall is unrecognized, just 1.5 km from the famous Bhivpuri falls. This waterfall is located on a mountain ridge at the rear of this housing project near Samriddhi Complex, Karjat Matheran Road. There are two ways to get to Mumbai Hun. 1] Shilpata – Badlapur – Bhivpuri and 2] Garpoli via Mumbai – Panvel – Karjat. On our way here we reached Garpoli via Mumbai – Panvel – Karjat. And while coming reached Mumbai via Badlapur. Mainly, the hill station of Matheran is just 18 km from here.
मुंबई पासून जवळ असा हा धबधबा, सेंट्रल रेल्वेच्या भिवपुरी रोड या रेल्वे स्टेशन जवळ गारपोली या गावत येतो. महत्त्वाची बाब म्हणजे प्रसिद्ध भिवपुरी धबधब्यापासून अगदी 1.5 km असलेला हा धबधबा अपरिचित आहे. कर्जत माथेरान रोड नजीक समृद्धी कॉम्प्लेक्स या गृह प्रकल्पाच्या मागील बाजूस असलेल्या डोंगर माळावर हा धबधबा आहे. मुंबई हुन येथे जाण्यासाठी दोन मार्ग आहेत. 1] शिळफाटा – बदलापूर – भिवपुरी आणी 2] मुंबई – पनवेल – कर्जत मार्गे गारपोली. येथे जाताना आम्ही मुंबई – पनवेल – कर्जत मार्गे गारपोली येथे पोहोचलो. आणी येताना बदलापूर मार्गे मुंबईत पोहोचलो. मुख्य म्हणजे येथून माथेरान हे हिल स्टेशन अवघ्या 18 km वर आहे.

We parked our car near the complex and proceeded towards the waterfall. This time, me and varad being the only two, we decided to take a short cut. By crossing the wire fence there, we saved almost half a km of walking. Now we could see a small waterfall. There was a high hill on the surrounding green plains and a waterfall dividing the two such hills. At some distance, a doh came into view. It should not be too deep like some nature has made a natural swimming pool for us.
आमची गाडी आम्ही कॉम्प्लेक्स जवळ पार्क करून पुढे धबधब्याच्या दिशेने निघालो. यावेळी मी आणी varad दोघेच असल्याने आम्ही थोडा शॉर्टकट मारायचे ठरवले. तेथे असलेले तारांचे कुंपण ओलांडून आम्ही तब्बल अर्ध्या km ची पायपीट वाचवली. आता आम्हाला छोटेखानी धबधबा दिसू लागला. सभोवताली हिरवीगार माळरानावरील उंच टेकडी आणी अश्या दोन टेकड्याना विभागून देण्याचे काम धबधबा करीत होता. काही अंतरावर एक डोह दृष्टीस पडला. तो फार खोल नसावा जस काही निसर्गाने आमच्यासाठी नैसर्गिक स्विमिंग पूल बनवून ठेवल आहे.
Just two minutes further from there, the first waterfall came into view. Yes, the first reason is that this is the first. Because there are total three to four such waterfalls in one stream. The second waterfall was a bit different. Here two sources of water flowed in two different directions. There was space in it. After spending some time there, we headed towards another waterfall a little higher. The path was hilly and uphill. We came close to another waterfall by following the trail ahead.
तेथून पुढे अगदी दोन मिनिटांच्या अंतरावर पहिला धबधबा दृष्टीस पडला. हो पहिला कारण अश्या प्रकारचे तब्बल तीन ते चार धबधबे एका जल प्रवाहात येतात त्या पैकी हा पहिला. दुसरा धबधबा थोडा वेगळाच होता. येथे पाण्याचे दोन स्त्रोत दोन वेगळ्या दिशेला वाहत होते. त्यामध्ये मोकळी जागा होती. तेथे काही वेळ काढून आम्ही थोडे वरील बाजूस दुसर्‍या धबधब्याच्या दिशेने निघालो. वाट टेकडी आणी चढाईची होती. समोर दिसणार्‍या पायवाटेने आम्ही दुसर्‍या धबधब्याच्या जवळ पोहोचलो.
This waterfall was about 8 ft high. What is special is that it was not raining but there was a good amount of water flowing here. There were red and black stones all around. In between, some small trees had grown in some areas. Even though it was a Sunday, there was no crowd. Apart from us, we saw only one other family walking there. Next we reached a high hill. From there, the three farm buildings in front of us started to look like a single brick and we realized how small we are in front of nature.
हा धबधबा साधारण 8 ft उंचीचा होता. विशेष म्हणजे पाऊस पडत नसून सुद्धा येथे चांगल्या प्रमाणात पाणी वाहत होते. सभोवती तांबड्या आणी काळ्या रंगाचे दगड होते. मधेच काही भागात काही छोटी झाडे उगवली होती. तो रविवारचा दिवस असून सुद्धा तेथे काहीही गर्दी न्हवती. आमच्या व्यतिरिक्त फक्त अजून एक कुटुंब तेथे वावरताना आम्हास दिसले. पुढे आम्ही उंच अश्या टेकडी वर पोहोचलो. तेथून समोरील तीन माळ्याच्या बिल्डिंग अगदी एका विटी एव्हढ्या दिसू लागल्या आणी निसर्गाच्या समोर आपण किती लहान ते समजून आले.

On the way to uphill we saw another waterfall a little further inland. However, after walking a little more, we slowly climbed up the mountain looking for a trail and in just 5 minutes we reached this third waterfall.
टेकडी वर असताना आम्हाला अजून एक धबधबा दिसला तो थोडा आतील बाजूस होता. तरी थोडे अधिक चालून पायवाट शोधत डोंगरावर हळू हळू वर चढू लागलो आणी अवघ्या 5 मिनिटात आम्ही या तिसर्‍या धबधब्या कडे पोहोचलो.
Gharpoli third waterfall view
This waterfall was slightly different compared to the other two waterfalls. The place with many rocks and the rushing water flowing down from it looked like a beautiful nature picture. We were mesmerized by that stream. It was sunset time. So we immediately started descending from the mountain. While coming, some cowherds were seen bringing their cattle with them. The high-low land here was more open with greenery.
हा धबधबा इतर दोन धबधब्यांच्या तुलनेत थोडा वेगळा होता. अनेक खडकांचे साम्राज्य असलेले ते ठिकाण त्यातून वाट काढत खाली उतरणारे खळखळणारे पाणी एका सुंदर निसर्ग चित्रा प्रमाणे दिसत होते. तो प्रवाह पाहून आम्ही मंत्रमुग्ध झालो. आता सूर्यास्ताची वेळ झाली होती. त्यामुळे आम्ही लगेच डोंगरावरून खाली उतरू लागलो. येताना काही गुराखी आपल्या गुरांना सोबत घेऊन येताना दिसले. येथील असलेल्या उंच-सखल भूभाग हिरवाईने अधिक खुलून दिसत होता.
When we got down we saw a small field where some local boys were playing cricket. It looked like a very nice place for camping. Because the place was so close to the surrounding nature and so close to the people, it felt very safe. We started our return journey deciding to come and camp here again in the winter days.
खाली उतरल्यावर एक छोटेसे मैदान दिसले तेथे काही स्थानिक मुले क्रिकेट खेळत होती. ती जागा कॅम्पिंग करण्यासाठी फार छान जागा वाटली. कारण सभोवतीच्या निसर्गाच्या सानिध्यात आणी लोक वस्ती पासून जवळचे ठिकाण त्या मुळे बरेच सुरक्षित वाटत होते. पुन्हा हिवाळ्याच्या दिवसात येऊन येथे कॅम्पिंग करण्याचे ठरवून आम्ही परतीच्या प्रवासाला निघालो.
Return journey Garpoli to Mumbai via Neral
On our return journey we reached Mumbai via Neral [foothills of Matheran] Badlapur Shilpata. This road received a lot of traffic. And the road was a bit rough. As a result, via Panvel Karjat Road seemed nicer.
परतीच्या प्रवासात आम्ही नेरळ [ माथेरानच्या पायथा ] बदलापूर शिळफाटा मार्गे मुंबई la पोहोचलो. या रस्त्यावर बर्‍याच प्रमाणात ट्राफिक मिळाली. आणी रस्ता ही थोडा खराब होता. त्यामानाने via Panvel कर्जत रोड अधिक छान वाटला.
