Information about Shikhareshwar temple story

Sri Shailam is a combination of Jyotirlinga and Shaktipeeth, so it has great spiritual significance. Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati appeared in person along with Lord Ganesha to meet Lord Karthik, enraged from Mount Kailash this story we heard in Purana. At that time, Karthik Swami was living on the peaks of Srisailam. Staying on these peaks, Karthik Swami used to see his parents from the here. The same practice continued unabated. श्री शैलम हे ज्योतिर्लिंग आणी शक्तिपीठ हे एकत्रित असल्याने त्यास आध्यात्मिक दृष्ट्या फार महत्व आहे. कैलास पर्वतावरून वरुन रागावून निघालेल्या कार्तिक स्वामींच्या भेटीसाठी प्रत्यक्ष भगवान शिव आणी माता पार्वती येथे भगवान गणेशा सोबत प्रकट झाले. त्यावेळी कार्तिक स्वामी येथील शिखरांवर वास्तव्य करीत होते. या शिखरांवर राहून ही स्वामी आपल्या माता पित्याचे दर्शन घेत होते. तीच प्रथा पुढे अविरत चालू राहिली. येथून आपणास srisailam ज्योतिर्लिंगाच्या  कळसाचे दर्शन घेता येते. असे केल्यास आपल्या पापांचा समूळ नाश होतो असा विश्वास येथे येणार्‍या प्रत्येक भाविकांना आहे. तसेच हे मंदिर शंकर स्वामी यांना समर्पित झाल्याचे समजते.

Personal experience Shikhareshwar temple travel guide

We visited this place during our Sri Shailam road trip. As the surrounding area is a dense sanctuary, it is full of amazing natural beauty. The Patal Ganga, name of Krishna River here is very spectacular. We were enjoyed a road trip of around 750 km. Reached Sri Shailam via Mumbai – Akkalkot. And first of all we visited to Jyotirlinga and Shakti Pitha. After that we decided to hire a rickshaw to visit other tourist spots. Shikhareshwar Temple was one of the many nearby places.

आम्ही आमच्या श्री शैलम या रोड ट्रिप दरम्यान या ठिकाणास भेट दिली होती. सभोवतालचा परिसर हा घनदाट अभयारण्याचा असल्याने अप्रतिम निसर्ग सौंदर्याने बहरलेला आहे. कृष्णा नदीचे पातळगंगा हे रूप अतिशय विहंगम आहे. आम्ही तब्बल 750 km चा रोड ट्रिपचा आनंद घेत. मुंबई – अक्कलकोट मार्गे श्री शैलम येथे पोहोचलो. आणी सर्व प्रथम ज्योतिर्लिंग आणी शक्ति पिठाचे दर्शन घेतले. त्यांना इतर पर्यटन स्थळ पाहण्यासाठी आम्ही एक रिक्षा भाडेतत्त्वावर ठरवली. यामधे जवळची बरीच ठिकाणे पहिली त्या पैकी शिखरेश्वर मंदिर हे एक होते.

As the name suggests, this temple is located on a peak. Also, there is a good parking facility at the base of the temple. After climbing some 150 steps in about 1o minutes from the parking lot, we reached near temple. An nominal entry fee Rs. 5 were charged from tourists. Which were utilized for better cleaning and maintenance of the place.

नावाप्रमाणेच हे मंदिर एका शिखरावर आहे. तसेच मंदिराकडे पायथ्याशी उत्तम पार्किंग ची सोय आहे. पार्किंग पासुन साधारणपणे 1o मिनिटात काही 150 पायर्‍या चढल्यावर आम्ही या मंदिरा जवळ पोहोचलो. या साठी पर्यटकांकडून प्रवेश फी आकारली जाते. प्रतेकी  Rs. 5 येवढी आहे. ज्या चा उपयोग येथील उत्तम साफसफाई आणी देखभाली साठी केला जातो.

Iron structure replica of Shiva Pindi

On reaching the there, we saw one platform. In front of it is a design made of iron rods as a replica of Shiva Pindi, from which the whole area beyond is visible and on the small stone structure one small Nandi idol was installed. In the middle of the two horns of Nandi, the Srishailam jotirling temple can be seen through the iron carving structure. After taking this darshan, we move towards a small temple has been established

A little further down the steps. Many stone structures have been built in front of it. Those who are painted with the same black and white color and smeared with incense like multiple Shivpindi look at one place.

शिखरावर पोहोचल्यावर एक चौथरा आहे. त्याच्या समोर शिव पिंडीची प्रतिकृती म्हणुन लोखंडी सळ्यांपासून बनवलेले एक नक्षी आहे ज्यामधून पलिकडचा सर्व परिसर दिसून येतो आणी चौथर्‍यावर  छोटा नंदी विराजमान आहे. त्या नंदीच्या दोन शिंगांच्या मध्यभागी समोरील नक्षी मधून आरपार श्री शैलम ज्योतिर्लिंग मुख्य मंदिर दृष्टीस येते. हे दर्शन घेतल्यावर पुन्हा पायर्‍या उतरून थोड्या खालील बाजूस एका छोटेखानी देवळाची स्थापना करण्यात आली आहे. त्याचाच समोर अनेक दगडांचे बांधकाम करण्यात आले आहेत. ज्यांना समान काळ्या रंगाने रंगवून शिवपिंडी सारखाच गंधलेप केल्या सारखाच दिसतो. त्यामुळे एका जागी अनेक शिवलिंग असल्याचा भास होतो.

After going a little further from there, we saw part of the Beautiful Valley view from Shikhareshwar temple. A deep valley and beautiful nature pictures were seen from there and next to it two flowering chaffa trees can be seen. Every gust of wind seems to be anointing the land by taking some flowers along with it. The fragrance of the fallen flowers is alFragrant and captivating which impact on resulting in the entire environment.

तेथून जरा पुढे गेल्यावर खालील दरीचा भाग दृष्टीस पडतो. खोल दरी आणी तिथून दिसणारे उत्तम निसर्ग चित्रं आणी त्याच्या शेजारी चाफ्याची दोन फुलांनी बहरलेली झाडे दिसून येतात. वाऱ्याची प्रत्येक झुळूक ही आपल्या सोबत काही फुलांना सोबत घेऊन जमिनीचा अभिषेक करत आहेत असे वाटते. पडलेल्या फुलांचा सुगंधही फार निर्मळ आणी तेव्हढाच सुवासिक. ज्यामुळे संपूर्ण वातावरण प्रफुल्लित झाले होते. तेथे काही काळ थांबण्याचा मोह आम्हाला आवरला नाही.
