Malshej Ghat, a favorite tourist spot near Mumbai Pune and surrounding areas. This route is used to reach Ahmednagar via Mumbai, Kalyan, Murbad. This Ghat is one of the Western Ghats in the lap of Sahyadri. This ghat, surrounded by the amazing beauty of nature, changes its appearance in every season. During the monsoons, it is surrounded by waterfalls and lush green forests. Its appearance is beautiful in summer or autumn. All kinds of wildlife live here because of the reserved forest division. Leopards, cheetahs and jackals are common here. Many times these animals are seen during the night journey. Tourists visit this beautiful ghat all year round.
माळशेज घाट, हे मुंबई पुणे आणी सभोवतालच्या परिसरातील पर्यटकांचे आवडते ठिकाण. मुंबई, कल्याण, मुरबाड मार्गे अहमदनगर येथे जाण्यासाठी या मार्गाचा वापर केला जातो. सह्याद्रीच्या कुशीत असलेला हा घाट म्हणजे पाश्चिम घाटा पैकी एक आहे. निसर्गाच्या अप्रतिम सौंदर्याने नटलेला हा घाट प्रत्त्येक मौसमात आपले रूप बदलतो. पावसात हा धबधबे आणी हिरव्यागार वनराईने नटलेला असतो. तर उन्हाळ्यात किंवा शिशिर ऋतूत याचे रूप सुंदरच असते. येथे असलेल्या आरक्षित जंगल विभागामुळे येथे सर्व प्रकारचे वन्यजीव वास करतात. त्यामधे बिबळ्या वाघ, चित्ते, कोल्हा यांचा येथे सर्रास वावर दिसून येतो. बरेच वेळा रात्रीच्या प्रवासात हे प्राणी दृष्टीस पडतात. असा हा निसर्ग रम्य घाट पाहण्यासाठी पर्यटक वर्षभर भेट देत असतात.

Historical and mythological significance of Malshej Ghat – माळशेज घाटाचे इतिहासकालीन आणी पौराणिक महत्व
This route has great importance in mythology as well as history. To give an example, our adorable deity Shri Ganesha was born on Lenyadri mountain near here. Our King Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was born at Shivneri Fort near Malshej Ghat. Later, after the victory at Surat, Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj came through this route and all the precious gems won in that battle were hidden near the Manik Doh water tank.
या मार्गास पौराणिक तसेच इतिहासकाळात फार महत्व आहे. याचे उदाहरण द्यायचे झाले तर आपले आराध्य दैवत श्री गणेश यांचा जन्म येथून जवळ असलेल्या लेण्याद्री पर्वतावर झाला. आपले राजे Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj यांचा ही जन्म माळशेज घाटा पासून जवळ असलेल्या शिवनेरी किल्ल्यावर झाला. पुढे Surat येथील विजयानंतर Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj याच मार्गे येऊन त्या लढाईत जिंकलेले सगळी मौल्यवान रत्ने आणी खजिना येथील माणिक डोह या पाणीसाठ्या जवळ लपवून ठेवण्यात आली होती.
Personal experience of road trip Mumbai to Malshej Ghat
We traveled through Malshej Ghat many times. This time I am sharing with you my experience during road trip from Mumbai to Bhimashankar. Another reason why we started the vajata journey at 2:30 midnight to escape the evening traffic was because we wanted to enjoy the sunrise at Malshej Ghat en route. Via Mumbai Murbad we reached Malshej Ghat just before. And now the sunrise was waiting. Some velatach sky fills with purple color and looks like sunrise. We started the journey again and started enjoying the mesmerizing beauty of the scenery in that orange color.
आम्ही माळशेज घाटातून बरेच वेळा प्रवास केला. यावेळी मुंबई ते भीमाशंकर रोड ट्रीप दरम्यान आलेला अनुभव आपल्याबरोबर शेअर करीत आहे. संध्याकाळच्या ट्रॅफिक पासून वाचण्यासाठी आम्ही मध्य रात्री 2:30 vajata प्रवासास सुरवात केली याचे अजून एक कारण म्हणजे आम्हास रस्त्यात येणार्‍या माळशेज घाटातील सूर्योदयाचा आनंद घ्यायचा होता. मुंबई मुरबाड मार्गे आम्ही माळशेज घाटाच्या थोडा अगोदर पोहोचलो. आणी आता प्रतीक्षा होती ती सूर्योदयाची. काही velatach आकाश शेंदरी रंगाने भरून आले आणी सूर्योदयाची चाहूल लागली. आम्ही पुन्हा प्रवासास सुरवात करून त्या केशरी रंगात निसर्गरम्य सौंदर्याचा मंत्रमुग्ध आनंद घेऊ लागलो.
While climbing this curvy ghat, driving was a lot of fun. A new form of nature was seen at every turn. And a little before the end of the ghat a valley view point has been made for the tourists. It is deliberately shaped like a fort. All the Malshej Ghats and the surrounding Sahyadri ranges are visible from here. After staying there for some time and enjoying the cool and pleasant atmosphere, we left for the next journey to see Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga.
वळणावळणाचा हा घाट चढताना ड्रायव्हिंग चा पुरेपूर आनंद मिळत होता. प्रतेक वळणावर निसर्गाच नवीन रूप पाहायला मिळत होते. आणी घाट समाप्ती होण्याच्या थोडे अगोदर एक पर्यटकांसाठी दरी च्या शेजारी व्हॅली व्ह्यू पॉइंट बनवण्यात आला आहे. यास जाणीव पूर्वक किल्ल्याचा आकार देण्यात आला आहे. येथून सर्व माळशेज घाट आणी सभोवतीच्या सह्याद्रीच्या पर्वतरांगा दृष्टीस येतात. तेथे काही काळ थांबून त्या थंडगार आल्हाददायक वातावरणाचा आनंद घेऊन आम्ही पुढील प्रवासाला भीमाशंकर या जोतिर्लिंगाच्या दर्शनासाठी निघालो.

Tips and Things to do near Malshej Ghat
- Best time to visit = All season in year You will get different experience. Well for waterfall in monsoon in early morning.
- You can enjoy camping near joga dam.
- Beaware while driving in monsoon chance of land sliding is more
