What is artillery and its importance – artilary म्हणजे काय आणी त्याचे महत्व.

A division of ground forces that uses large heavy guns to respond to enemy forces with ground-to-ground and ground-to-air artillery fire. It has a range of hundreds of miles. In which the locations of the enemy forces are destroyed on the basis of sophisticated systems. First of all the artillery division is employed while your infantry is driving the enemy forces so that your troops face less obstacles. Similarly, the artillery division has the important task of destroying enemy aircraft and tanks. Our sophisticated Bofors guns were used in the Kargil war. It was with their help that you were able to win over the Pakistani army.

मोठ्या जड तोफा वापरणार्‍या भूदलाचा एक विभाग ज्यामधे जमिनीवरून जमिनीवर तसेच जमिनीवरून आकाशात तोफ गोळ्यांचा मारा करून शत्रू सैन्याला प्रत्युत्तर दिले जाते. याची मारक क्षमता ही शेकडो मैलांची असते. ज्या मध्ये अत्याधुनिक यंत्रणांच्या आधारे शत्रू सैन्याच्या ठिकाणांना उध्वस्त केले जाते. आपले पायदळ शत्रूच्या सैन्यावर चाल करून जात असताना सर्व प्रथम artilary विभाग कार्यरत होतो जेणेकरून आपल्या सैन्यास कमी अडथळ्यांचा सामना करावा लागतो. त्याच प्रमाणे शत्रूंच्या विमानांचे आणी रणगाडे याना निसतोनाबूत करण्याचे महत्त्वपूर्ण काम हे तोफखाना विभागाकडे असते. कारगिल युद्धामध्ये आपल्या अत्याधुनिक बोफोर्स तोफा वापरल्या गेल्या होत्या. त्यांच्या मदतीनेच आपणास पाकिस्तानी सैन्यावर विजय मिळविता आला.

Deolali is an army base near Mumbai from the British era. Where various departments of the army are working. In which training is given to new army recruits. There is a museum of the Artillery Department of the Army. Where Artillery displays the whole history of artillery from conventional war materials to the year 2000 in use by the army. Tourists can have a real experience of various tanks, helicopters, vehicles in the Patangan here. Importantly, this museum is the largest Artillery museum in Asia. Various cannons captured from the erstwhile regime after India’s independence are included here. Interestingly, the main attraction here is the golden cannon weighing as much as 300 kg.

देवळाली हे ब्रिटिश कालपासून मुंबई पासून जवळ असले सैन्य तळ आहे. जेथे सैन्य दलातील विविध विभाग कार्यरत आहेत. ज्या मध्ये मुख्यत्वेकरून नवीन सैन्य भरती झालेल्या जवानांना ट्रेनिंग दिली जाते. येथे सैन्यदलाच्या तोफखाना विभागाचे संग्रहालय आहे. जेथे तोफखाना संपूर्ण इतिहास पारंपरिक युद्ध सामुग्री पासून ते सन 2000 पर्यंत सैन्य दलाच्या वापरात असलेल्या तोफांचा संच प्रदर्शित केला आहे. येथील पटांगणात विविध रणगाडे, हेलिकॉप्टर्स, वाहने यांचा प्रत्यक्ष अनुभव पर्यटकांना घेता येतो. महत्त्वाचे म्हणजे हे संग्रहालय आशिया खंडातील सर्वात मोठे Artillery museum आहे. भारत स्वतंत्र झाल्यानंतर जुन्या राजवटी कडून हस्तगत केलेल्या विविध तोफांचा येथे समावेश केलेला आहे. विशेष म्हणजे त्या मध्ये तब्बल 300 kg वजनाची सोन्याची तोफ हे येथील प्रमुख आकर्षण आहे.

Personal experience Mumbai to Artillery museum deolali road trip

We have visited Artillery museum Deolali during our Nashik trip. We started from Mumbai and reached Nashik via Kasara Igatpuri on the Mumbai-Agra National Highway. Deolali is a place just 8 Km from Nashik. On reaching there, we were got an idea of the magnificence place. This entire area comes under the control of military forces. So there where very strict security system here. A complete checking of our vehicle was done at the main gate. Details of our vehicle and all of us were mentioned. Then we were told a registration number which we had to mention while return.

आम्ही आमच्या नाशिक trip दरम्यान Artillery museum देवळाली येथे भेट दिली होती. मुंबईहून मुंबई – आग्रा राष्ट्रीय महामार्गावर कसारा इगतपुरी मार्गे नाशिक येथे पोहोचलो. नाशिक येथून अवघ्या 8 Km अंतरावर देवळाली हे ठिकाण आहे. तेथे पोहोचल्यावर तेथील भव्यतेचा आम्हाला अंदाज आला. हा संपूर्ण परिसर सैन्य दलाच्या अधिपत्याखाली येतो. त्यामुळे फार कडक सुरक्षा व्यवस्था येथे आम्हाला पाहावयास मिळाली. मुख्य गेट वर आमच्या वाहनाचे संपूर्ण चेकिंग करण्यात आले. आमच्या वाहनाची आणी आम्हा सर्वांची माहिती नमूद करण्यात आली. त्यानंतर एक रजिस्ट्रेशन नंबर सांगण्यात आला जो आम्हास परतीच्या वेळी नोंद करताना सांगावा लागणार होता.

After main Enterence, we reached near atartillery museum its just 500 mtr away, an arch was seen on the left side. There was good parking facility outside. After parking, it felt as we had reached a battlefield because of the surrounding architecture, various tanks, helicopters, aircraft, vehicles were well arranged at a certain distance. Most importantly, they were well looked after. So this unused machinery looked like a brand new mechanism. A nice garden was made around them. So overall the entire area looked spectacular.

तेथून आत गेल्यावर अवघ्या 500 mtr वर डाव्या बाजूस एक कमान दिसली ते artillery museum होते. बाहेर पार्किंग ची उत्तम सोय होती. पार्किंग करून आत जणू आम्ही रणांगणावर पोहचलो आहोत असे वाटले त्याचे कारण होते ते म्हणजे सभोवतालची वास्तु रचना, एका ठराविक अंतरावर विविध रणगाडे, हेलिकॉप्टर्स, वाहने यांची उत्तम मांडणी करण्यात आली होती. सर्वात महत्त्वाचे म्हणजे त्यांची उत्तम देखरेख ठेवण्यात आली होती. त्यामुळे ही वापरात नसलेली यंत्रसामग्री अगदी नवीन यंत्रणे प्रमाणे दिसत होती. त्यांच्या सभोवताली छान उद्यान बनवण्यात आले होते. जेणेकरून एकूणच संपूर्ण परिसर हा नेत्रदीपक वाटत होता.

After a little further, the museum building came into view. Our joy was doubled when we saw a military Aircraft standing right in front of museum. There was a cannon tall and covered with tarpaulin which our guide told us was a 300 kg Vajanachi gold cannon. It was carved like a butterfly when it was stationed at a southern fort. But during the process of annexation of the regime, part of it was stolen by thips and henceforth such a rare and valuable item was handed over to the guard force for safekeeping. The cannon has been a part of the museum ever since.

थोडे पुढे गेल्यानंतर संग्रहालयाची इमारत दृष्टीस आली. तिच्या अगदी समोर एक सेनेचे विमान उभे होते ते पाहून आमचा आनंद द्विगुणित झाला. एक उंच आणी ताडपत्री ने झाकलेली एक तोफ होती ती कुतूहलाने पाहता आम्हास तेथील मार्गदर्शक यांनी सांगितले की ती तब्बल 300 kg Vajanachi सोन्याची तोफ आहे. ती एका दक्षिणेतील किल्ल्यावर तैनात होती त्यावेळी त्यावर फुलपाखरासारखे नक्षीकाम केले गेले होते. पण राजवटीच्या विलिनीकरण प्रक्रिये दरम्यान तिचा काही भाग लुटारूंनी लंपास केला आणी पुढे एव्हढी दुर्मिळ आणी किमती वस्तू रक्षणासाठी संरक्षक दलाकडे सुपूर्द करण्यात आली. तेव्हापासुन ही तोफ संग्रहालयाचा एक भाग आहे.

we were entered in the main museum where each Rs. 50 entry fee was charged. Interestingly, we reached there on a mid-week day i.e. Wednesday, so there was no rush. Lt. Vijay, the guide there, registered us once again and personally visited each hall with us to give complete information about the museum

पटांगणातून आम्ही मुख्य संग्रहालयात प्रवेश केला तेथे प्रत्येकी Rs. 50 प्रवेश शुल्क आकारण्यात आले. विशेष म्हणजे आम्ही आठवड्यातील मधल्या दिवशी म्हणजे बुधवारी तेथे पोहोचल्यामुळे काहीच गर्दी न्हवती. तेथील मार्गदर्शन लेफ्टनंट विजय यांनी आमची पुन्हा एकदा नोंद करून घेतली आणी संग्रहालय संदर्भातील संपूर्ण माहिती देण्यासाठी स्वतः आमच्या सोबत प्रतेक दालनात भेट दिली.

The architecture of the museum and the rare objects – संग्रहालयाची वास्तू रचना आणी त्यातील संग्रहित दुर्मिळ वस्तू

This museum is a two-storied building with a large hall in the middle and different halls on both sides, we were started from the left hall, at the beginning very traditional guns were seen, then gradually new guns were made and how the power increased withnew invention, We realized history of each battle by looking at the guns. Along with the guns, this included the items that carried them and the ammunition required for them. After seeing it, the entire history flashed while interacting with them.

हे संग्रहालय ही एक दुमजली इमारत आहे ज्याच्या मध्यभागी मोठा हॉल असून दोन्ही बाजूस वेगवेगळी दालने आहेत तेथे आम्ही डाव्या बाजूच्या दालनातून सुरवात केली सुरुवातीस अगदी पारंपरिक तोफा दृष्टीस पडल्या त्यानंतर क्रमाक्रमाने नवनवीन तोफांचे निर्मिती निर्मिती आणी शक्ति कशी वाढत् गेली ते तेथील संग्रहित खर्‍याखुर्‍या तोफांकडे पाहून लक्षात आले. तेथे तोफांच्या सोबत त्यांना वाहून नेणाऱ्या तसेच त्यासाठी लागणारा दारूगोळा या वस्तूंचा ही समावेश होता. ते पाहिल्यानंतर संपूर्ण इतिहास जणू क्षणार्धात डोळ्यासमोर येऊन गेला.

we were entered the next hall where we got to know how the complete information of missiles are and the sophisticated systems used in them including the actual bomb where we were told about its different parts and its lethality. Many foreign as well as Indian made missiles were stored there. Lt. Vijay explained us all the information in that context very well. From there we entered the hall on the ground floor where all kinds of communication systems and equipment useful for enemy surveillance were displayed, from binoculars to telegraphs. There was a ban on photography in the museum. We respectfully understood all the information.

तेथून आम्ही पुढील दालनात प्रवेश केला येथे आम्हास संपूर्ण मिसाइल्स कसे असतात आणी त्यात वापरल्या जाणार्‍या अत्याधुनिक यंत्रणेची माहिती मिळाली ज्यामधे प्रत्यक्ष बॉम्ब आम्हास विविध भाग त्याची मारक क्षमता नमूद केली होती. विदेशी तसेच भारतीय बनावटीचे अनेक क्षेपणास्त्रे तेथे संग्रहित केली होती. लेफ्टनंट विजय यांनी त्या संदर्भातील सर्व माहिती आम्हाला उत्तम प्रकारे सांगितली. तेथून पुढे आम्ही पाहिल्या मजल्यावरील दालनात प्रवेश केला येथे सर्वप्रकारच्या संपर्क यंत्रणा तसेच शत्रूवर पाळत ठेवण्यासाठी उपयुक्त यंत्रणा ज्यामधे अगदी दुर्बिणी पासून ते तार यंत्र पर्यंत सर्व गोष्टी प्रदर्शित करण्यात आल्या होत्या. संग्रहालयात छाया चित्रण करण्यासाठी बंदी होती आम्ही आदर करून सर्व माहिती समजून घेतली.

From there we were entered the next hall where they kept an animal carrier display. In some rare areas like Assam Meghalaya some animals are used as carriers to transport various machinery and ammunition, so they are trained animals in a specific manner. They displayed a replica of how ammunition is loaded on them. The main thing is that our countries have given a tribute by mounting the skin of a dead animal, who worked in the Indian Army service on the model here.

In the next hall there is a plaque with the names of the soldiers who were martyred during the war and the information about the medals they received. Also, how the artillery system works on the actual battlefield has been demonstrated using various models. A model of the whole and a good information about the sections was given to us by Lt. Vijay. Hearing and seeing all that, my respect for the Indian Army doubled.

तेथून आम्ही पुढील दालनात प्रवेश केला येथे काही दुर्मिळ भागात जसे आसाम मेघालय येथे विविध यंत्रसामुग्री पोहोचवण्यासाठी काही प्राण्यांचा वाहक म्हणुन उपयोग केला जातो त्यांना विशिष्ट पद्धतीने प्रशिक्षण दिले जाते त्यावर दारूगोळा कसा लादला जातो याचे प्रतिरूप मांडण्यात आले आहे. मुख्य म्हणजे काही देश सेवेतील मृत प्राण्याची स्कीन येथील मॉडेल वर चढवून त्यांना एक मानवंदना देण्यात आली आहे. त्यापुढील दालनात युद्ध काळात शहीद झालेल्या जवानांची आठवण म्हणुन त्यांची नावांचे फलक त्यांना मिळालेल्या पदकाची माहिती देण्यात आली आहे. तसेच विविध मॉडेल चा वापर करून प्रत्यक्ष युद्धभूमीवर तोफखाना यंत्रणा कशी काम करते याचे प्रात्यक्षिक दाखवले गेले आहे. त्या एकूण एक मॉडेल आणी विभागांची उत्तम माहिती आम्हास लेफ्टनंट विजय यांस कडून देण्यात आली. ते सर्व ऐकून आणी प्रत्यक्ष पाहून, मनातील भारतीय सैन्य बद्दलचा आदर द्विगुणित झाला.
