Information about Ballappa Maharaj – बाळाप्पा महाराजांची माहिती

Balappa Maharaj was originally from a wealthy family in the state of Karnataka. He renounced the worldly life for meeting Guru and spiritual knowledge. After that, he visited Gangapur and other pilgrimage sites and performed many rituals to find Guru. At that time he received an order to go to Akkalkot according to a vision. Accordingly, Balappa Maharaj came to Akkalkot and got absorbed in Swami Bhakti. Later that Swami bestowed upon him the legacy of his austerities and spiritual powers. In which Swamini gave her a ring engraved with Swami Samarth’s name and Tulsi Mala along with Chinmay Paduka and ordered to carry on the legacy of her guru disciple. Balappa Maharaj got the post of Guru by the blessings of Swami.

बाळाप्पा महाराज हे मूळचे कर्नाटक प्रांतातील एक धनाढ्य घराण्यातील व्यक्ती होते. गुरू भेट आणी अध्यात्मिक ज्ञानासाठी त्यांनी सांसारिक जीवनाचा परीत्याग केला. त्यापुढे गुरू शोधा साठी ते गाणगापूर आणि इतर तीर्थक्षेत्री भेट देऊन अनेक अनुष्ठाने केली. त्यावेळी त्यांना एका दृष्टांतानुसार अक्कलकोट येथे जाण्याचा आदेश मिळाला. त्यानुसार बाळाप्पा महाराज अक्कलकोट येथे येऊन स्वामी भक्तीत लीन झाले. पुढे ते स्वामींनी त्यांना आपल्या तप आणि अध्यात्मिक समर्थांचा वारसा बहाल केला. ज्यामधे स्वामिनी स्वताची स्वामी समर्थ नाव कोरलेली अंगठी आणी तुळशी माळ सोबत चिन्मय पादुका बहाल करून जणू आपला गुरू शिष्य वारसा पुढे चालवण्याचा आदेश दिला. स्वामींच्या परिस स्पर्शाने बाळाप्पा महाराज यांना गुरू पद प्राप्त झाले.

तापसमार्थ्याचा वारसाच बाळाप्पाना दिला. श्री स्वामी समर्थ ब्राम्हनंद स्वामी महाराज हे नाव धारण करून चातुर्थाश्रम 

Balappa Maharaj was a very close disciple of Swami. Swamini Samadhi had earlier offered Balappa Maharaj with his statue feet. And along with that he ordered the construction of a Guru Mandir in accordance with the tradition of Guru Shishya. Accordingly, Balappa Maharaj established the Guru Mandir at Akkalkot. After his samadhi his disciples have continued this guru disciple tradition uninterruptedly. That is why this monastery is named as Guru Mandir.

बाळप्पा महाराज हे स्वामींचे फार जवळचे शिष्य होते. स्वामिनी समाधी पूर्वी बाळप्पा महाराज यांना स्वताच्या चिन्मय पादुका अर्पण केल्या होत्या. आणी त्या सोबत गुरू शिष्य परंपरेला साजेसे गुरू मंदिर उभारण्याचा आदेश दिला. त्या नुसार बाळप्पा महाराज यांनी अक्कलकोट येथे गुरू मंदिराची स्थापना केली. त्यांच्या samadhi नंतर त्यांच्या शिष्यानी ही गुरू शिष्य परंपरा अविरत चालू ठेवली आहे. म्हणुनच या मठास गुरू मंदिर असे नाव देण्यात आले आहे.

Personal experience – वैयक्तिक अनुभव

We visited the Guru Mandir during our visit to Akkalkot. Balappa Maharaj Math i.e. Guru Temple is at a short distance behind the Banyan Tree Temple. The structure of the temple is like an old palace. After entering through a small stone arch, there is a small open space. Where some religious books and worship materials are seen for sale. From there, there is an entrance to the temple. After entering, a beautiful and well maintained Vastu comes into view.

आम्ही आमच्या अक्कलकोट भेटीदरम्यान गुरु मंदिर येथे भेट दिली होती. वटवृक्ष मंदिराच्या मागील बाजूस थोड्या अंतरावर बाळप्पा महाराज मठ म्हणजेच गुरू मंदिर आहे. मंदिराची रचना जुन्या वाड्या प्रमाणे आहे. एका छोट्या दगडी कमानीतून आत गेल्यावर थोडी मोकळी जागा आहे. जेथे काही धार्मिक पुस्तके आणी पूजन सामुग्री विक्रीस ठेवलेली दिसते. तेथून समोरच मंदिराचे प्रवेश द्वार आहे. आत गेल्यानंतर एक सुंदर आणी उत्तमरीत्या सांभाळ केलेली वास्तु नजरेसमोर येते.

In the main temple, on the left side, there is a couch decorated for the Lord. Various idols are seated in front. The idols of Sri Swami Samarth, Jyotirlinga and other deities are seated in it. Which includes Swami’s Chinmaya Padukas. There are many oil paintings around, mainly an original photo of Sri Swami Samarth, Balappa Maharaj and other devotees which is believed to have been painted by a British officer. On the right side is the mausoleum of the chief successor Gangadhar Maharaj. Thus the whole appears to be dedicated to the Guru Shishya tradition.

मुख्य मंदिरात डाव्या बाजूस स्वामींच्या साठी पलंग सजवला आहे. समोर विविध मूर्ती विराजमान आहेत. त्यात श्री स्वामी समर्थ, ज्योतिर्लिंग व इतर देवदेवतांच्या मूर्ती विराजमान आहेत. ज्यामधे स्वामींच्या चिन्मय पादुकांचा ही समावेश आहे. सभोवताली अनेक तैलचित्रे आहेत त्यामधे प्रामुख्याने श्री स्वामी समर्थ, बाळप्पा महाराज आणी इतर भक्त मंडळींचा मूळ फोटो जो एका इंग्रज अधिकार्‍यांनी काढलेला असल्याचे समजते. उजव्या बाजूस प्रमुख उत्तराधिकारी गंगाधर महाराज यांची समाधी आहे. अशा प्रकारे संपूर्ण हे गुरू शिष्य परंपरेला समर्पित असल्याचे दिसून येते.

There is a Goshala outside the temple. Where cows are reared. There is a Ram temple nearby. Fine craftsmanship construction and silent silence are the special features of this temple. There is a lot of open space outside the temple. Where devotees can take some rest. A little further from there Prasad Griha i.e. Annachhatra is established. Where free food is provided to all the devotees who come here. Sakshat lives in Annapurna. This little known monastery is truly preserving and promoting the tradition of Swami’s teachings and incarnational work in a great way. The experience of peace of mind and spiritual strength will reward you while leaving here.

मंदिराच्या बाहेरील बाजूस गोशाळा आहे. जेथे गाईंचे संगोपन केले जाते. शेजारी एक राम मंदिर आहे. उत्तम कलाकुसरीचे बांधकाम आणी नीरव शांतता हे या मंदिराचे विशेष दिसून येतात. मंदिराच्या बाहेर बरीच मोकळी जागा आहे. जेथे भक्तांना थोडा विसावा घेता येतो. तेथूनच थोडे पुढे गेल्यावर प्रसाद गृह म्हणजेच अन्नछत्र स्थापित केले आहे. जेथे येथे येणार्‍या सर्व भक्तांना मोफत भोजनाची सोय केली जाते. साक्षात अन्नपूर्णा येथे वास करते. फार कमी माहीत असलेला हा मठ खऱ्या अर्थाने स्वामींच्या उपदेश आणी अवतार कार्याची परंपरा उत्तम पद्धतीने जतन आणी संवर्धन करीत आहे. येथून निघताना मनःशांती चा आणी आध्यात्मिक शक्तीचा अनुभव आपणास कृतार्थ करतो.

In recent times, Swami’s revelation in the Guru Mandir led to the experience of Swami’s Nirguna form. That incident is as follows. Guru Mandir Balappa Math is like an old palace. The executive board here decided to install new ladas on the ground during renovations. But on the very next day of resolution Swami’s footprints were seen all over the ground in the monastery. It is as if Swami is living in that monastery and he wants to preserve the monastery built in ancient style.

अलीकडच्या काळात गुरू मंदिरात आलेला स्वामींचा साक्षात्कार ज्यामुळे स्वामींचा निर्गुण स्वरूपातला वावर अनुभवास आला. तो प्रसंग पुढील प्रमाणे. गुरू मंदिर हा बाळप्पा मठ एका जुन्या वाड्यासारखा आहे. येथील कार्यकारी मंडळाने डागडुजी दरम्यान जमिनीवर नवीन लाद्या बसवायचे ठरवले. पण ठरावाच्या दुसर्‍याच दिवशी मठात जमिनीवर सर्वत्र स्वामींच्या पाऊलखुणा दिसून आल्या. जणू स्वामी त्या मठात वास करीत आहेत आणी पुरातन शैलीत बांधलेला मठ तसाच जतन करावा अशी त्याची इच्छा असावी.
