Information about Vasai fort

Vasai was a geographically important place to control trade and water traffic to important places like Mumbai, Thane, Surat. So many political power lines tried to make their military base here. In which respectively Sardar Bhandari, Sultan of Gujarat, Peshwa Chimaji Appa of the Maratha Empire and then the British. Current situation of Vasai fort – सध्याची परिस्थिती

Due to constant attacks and some neglect, the fort has largely fallen into disrepair. Except for the ramparts and a few towers, there is not much construction left here. The temples here are well maintained. Some places offer great locations for pre-wedding shoots as a new trend. Due to the surrounding green nature and the nearby sea beach, a large number of tourists can be seen here. An easily accessible scenic trek is available at some places as well as near the fort. Overall a great place for a day trip from Mumbai.

Personal Experience

we had studied and gather some information Before we visited Vasai Fort. Which came in handy during our trip planning. Since the fort is spread over 110 acres, we decided to see the major parts of it. In it we reached Vasai via Mumbai to Ahmedabad highway and first of all visited the memorial of Rich Peshwa Chimaji Appa.

आम्ही वसई किल्ला पाहण्याआधी थोडे काही माहिती मिळवली होती. ज्याचा उपयोग आम्हास आमच्या ट्रीप प्लॅनिंग दरम्यान झाला. किल्ला हा तब्बल 110 acres मध्ये पसरला असल्याने आम्ही त्यातील प्रमुख भाग पाहण्याचे ठरवले. त्यात आम्ही मुंबई हुन अहमदाबाद हायवे मार्गे वसई गाठली आणी सर्व प्राथम श्रीमंत पेशवा chimaji आप्पा यांच्या स्मारकाला भेट दिली.

Memorial of Peshwa Chimaji Appa – श्रीमंत पेशवा चिमाजी आप्पा यांच्या स्मारक

At the beginning of the fort there is a monument of the rich Peshwa Chimaji Appa. The park is beautiful and in the center is a magnificent equestrian statue of Peshwa Chimaji Appa. There is a beautiful garden all around and the fortifications of the fort can be seen at a distance. Thus enjoying the whole pleasant atmosphere, we proceeded to see the fort.

किल्ल्याच्या सुरुवातीस श्रीमंत पेशवा चिमाजी आप्पा यांचे स्मारक आहे. सुंदर असे उद्यान आणी मध्यवर्ती पेशवा चिमाजी आप्पा यांची घोडेस्वार रुपी भव्य मूर्ती आहे. सभोवताली उत्तम असा बगीचा आणी तेथून काही अंतरावर किल्ल्याची तटबंदी स्पष्ट दिसते. अश्या प्रकारे संपूर्ण प्रसन्न वातावरण अनुभवून आम्ही पुढे किल्ला पाहावयास निघालो.

A fort was seen at a distance of 5 minutes. The main entrance and the surrounding ramparts were standing in Dimakh just as they were. However, the internal structure was seen to be in a state of disrepair. Looking at the height of the building and the windows and roofs, it is believed that this structure must be at least three to four stories tall. At present, however, it is in complete disrepair. There were several interior doors and some secret doors that lead directly into the adjacent forest.

पुढे अगदी 5 मिनिटांच्या अंतरावर बालेकिल्ला दिसला. मुख्य प्रवेशद्वार आणी भोवतालची तटबंदी अगदी जशीच्यातशी दिमाखात उभी होती. मात्र आतील बांधकाम पुरते ढासळेल दिसले. त्या इमारतीची उंची आणी असलेल्या खिडक्या आणी तावदाने पाहून ही वास्तू कमीतकमी तीन ते चार मजली अशी भव्य असावी असे समजते. सध्या मात्र ती पुर्‍या दुरावस्तेत आहे. तेथे आतल्या बाजूस अनेक दरवाजे आणी काही गुप्त दरवाजे ही पाहावयास मिळाले जे थेट शेजारील जंगलात बाहेर पडतात.

Nageshwar Temple and Vajreshwari Temple – नागेश्वर मंदिर आणी वज्रेश्वरी मंदिर

The Shrimant Peshwa Chimaji Appa undertook the campaign of Vasai. While crossing the Tanasa river to reach Vasai, he visited the awakening shrine of Vajreshwari and vowed to the goddess that if the mission was successful, he would build the temple of the goddess vajreshwari as a fort. श्रीमंत पेशवा चिमाजी अप्पा यांनी वसईची मोहीम हाती घेतली. वसई जवळ पोहोचण्यासाठी tanasa नदी जवळून yet असताना वज्रेश्वरी या जागृत देवस्थानाला भेट दिली आणी देवीला नवस केला की जर ही मोहीम फत्ते झाली तर देवीचे मंदिर vajreshwari  एका किल्ल्या प्रमाणे बांधेन. तेथून पुढे वसई la पोहोचून उत्तम युद्ध कौशल्याने वसई किल्ला जिंकला आणी तेथे भगवान शिव शंकराचे आणी माता वज्रेश्वरी चे मंदिर बांधले. आणी नवसा प्रमाणे  वज्रेश्वरी येथे भव्य मंदिर किल्ल्याच्या स्वरुपात बांधण्यात आले.
