History of Menawali ghat – मेनावली घाटाचा इतिहास

To see the history of Menwali Ghat, We have to go back to the Peshwa period. Nana Fadnavis, chief of finance department of the Peshwas, received this village as a reward. Therefore, he beautified many places in this village as well as in the surrounding area. Menavali ghat is one of them. The house of Nana Fadnavis is famous as Nanafhadanvis Wada in this neighborhood. Satara was the capital of the Chhatrapatis and the Wai and its surroundings were built by the Peshwas in a strong and spiritual way, so many historical structures are located in this area.

Architecture of Menawali Ghat

Menavali ghat is located on the banks of river Krishna. It has a very mesmerizing design with steps descending on three sides with the Beautiful Krishna Mai riverbank on one side. This magnificent area is very fascinating. There is a temple of Shri Mahadev Shiva Shankar on one side of the ghat and in front of an iron bell temple.
