History of Chatrapati Shivaji maharaj vastu sangrahalaya mumbai

1905 The foundation stone of this museum was laid by the Prince of Wales hence the name of this museum was named as Prince of Wales museum. Later this museum was named as Chatrapati Shivaji maharaj vastu sangrahalaya. In the early days it was under the rule of the royal family. Eventually it was opened to the public. Currently, this museum is being maintained by the Tata Group and it is maintained like a five star hotel. Kudos to The Ratan Tata who truly preserves Indian culture.

1905  प्रिन्स ऑफ वेल्स यांच्या हस्ते या संग्रहालयाची पाया भरणी करण्यात आली त्यामुळे या संग्रहालयाचे नाव प्रिन्स ऑफ वेल्स musium असे ठेवण्यात आले. पुढे या संग्रहालयाचे नाव Chatrapati Shivaji maharaj vastu sangrahalaya असे ठेवण्यात आले. सुरवातीच्या काळात हे राजघराण्याच्या अधिपत्याखाली होते. कालांतराने ते जनसामान्यांसाठी खुले करण्यात आले. सध्या या संग्रहालयाची देखभाल टाटा ग्रुप मार्फत केली जात असून त्याचा रखराखाव अगदी पंचतारांकित हॉटेल प्रमाणे ठेवण्यात आला आहे. खऱ्या अर्थाने भारतीय संस्कृती जपणाऱ्या दि रतन टाटांना मानाचा मुजरा.

It would not be wrong to say that the architecture here is a perfect example of the mirror of India and the foreign impression on it. At first glance, its circular roof shape reminds you of a Taj Mahal structure. The innumerable windows here facilitate the balanced distribution of air and sunlight throughout the building. A very grand hall in which there are two-storied structures with different halls on each floor and their route boards. This makes it very easy to get all the information here. Most of the pieces are carved from teak and sisam wood. So the overall atmosphere is as elegant and orderly as a palace.

येथील वास्तु कला ही संपूर्ण भारत आणी त्यावर विदेशी छाप याचे उत्तम उदाहरण असे म्हंटले तर वावगे ठरणार नाही. प्रथम पाहता याचा छताचा गोलाकार आकार आपणास ताज महाल सारख्या वास्तूची आठवण करून देतो. सर्व इमारती मध्ये हवा आणी सूर्य प्रकाश संतुलित पणे पोहोचवण्याची सोय येथील अगणित खिडक्या करतात. अत्यंत भव्य असे दालन त्यात दुमजली असे वास्तू प्रत्येक माळ्यावर विविध दालने व त्यांच्या मार्ग दर्शक पाट्या. यांमुळे येथील सर्व माहिती मिळवणे अगदी सुलभ होते. बराचसा भाग हा सागवानी आणी sisam या लाकडापासून कोरीव काम करून बनवण्यात आला आहे. त्यामुळे एकंदर वातावरण हे एखाद्या राजवाड्या प्रमाणे रुबाबदार आणी तेव्हढेच सुव्यवस्थित आहे.
