This story is from 1976. A lot of trucks and dumpers used to come and go during the excavation of Manganese mine in Redi and it was parked at certain places. At that time, Ganapati Bappa gave a vision in the dream of a truck driver Sadanand Kambli. The first time the driver woke up rudely. But again the next day he was surprised to have the same dreams. In this dream Ganapati Bappa himself has buried my idol underground in a certain area under the tire of your truck. Take out the idol and install it. Mr. Sadanand narrated these recurring dreams to the local villagers. Then the villagers unanimously started digging at the designated place.
ही गोष्ट आहे 1976 सालची. रेडी मध्ये मॅंगनीज खाणीमध्ये खोदकाम चालू असताना बरेच ट्रक आणि डंपर ये जा करत असत. आणि ठराविक ठिकाणी ते पार्किंग केले जात. त्यावेळी एका ट्रक ड्रायव्हर सदानंद कांबळी यांच्या स्वप्नात गणपती बाप्पाने दृष्टांत दिला. प्रथमता ड्रायव्हर खडबडून जागा झाला. पण पुन्हा दुसर्‍या दिवशी तसेच स्वप्नं पडल्याने तो अचंबित झाला. या स्वप्नात स्वतः गणपती बाप्पांनी माझी मूर्ती तुझ्या ट्रक च्या टायरच्या खाली ठराविक भागात भूगर्भात दडलेली आहे. त्या मूर्तीला बाहेर काढून त्याची प्रतिष्ठापना कर. हे सतत पडणारे स्वप्नं श्री सदानंद यांनी स्थानिक गावकर्‍यांना सांगितले. तेव्हा एकमताने गावकर्‍यांनी ठरलेल्या जागी खोदकाम करण्यास सुरवात केली.
After two days of digging, first they found ear of Lord Ganesha and then the entire idol was brought out. If we talk about the uniqueness of this idol, this idol with six feet height, four feet width and two arms is different from other Ganesha idols. That day is 18 April 1976. Even today, the birthday of Ganesha of Redi is celebrated on this day. According to a legend, two days after Ganesha came out, an idol of Ganesha’s vahan mouse was found while excavating at a certain place. Later, when the villagers installed the idol, even the village congregation took subscriptions and built the temple. Its fame and popularity increased so much that today this Ganapati temple presents a beautiful architectural art.
दोन दिवसाच्या खोदकामानंतर प्रथम गणपतीचा कान आणी पुढे संपूर्ण मूर्ती बाहेर काढण्यात. या मूर्तीचे वेगळेपण सांगायला गेले तर, सहा फूट उंच चार फूट रुंद आणि दोन हात असलेली ही मूर्ती इतर गणेश मूर्तींन पेक्षा तो दिवस 18 एप्रिल 1976. आजही या दिवशी रेडिच्या गणपतीचा वाढदिवस साजरा केला जातो. गणपती बाहेर आल्यानंतर तब्बल दोन दिवसानंतर एका दृष्टांतानुसार ठराविक जागेवर उत्खनन करता गणपतीचे वाहन उंदीर याची मूर्ती सापडली. पुढे गावकरी यांनी मूर्तीची प्रतिष्ठापना केली त्यावेळी अगदी गावातील मंडळीनी वर्गणी काढून मंदिर उभारले. त्याची प्रचिती आणी प्रसिद्धी एव्हढी वाढली की आज हे गणपती मंदिर एका सुंदर वास्तू कलेच दर्शन घडवून देत आहे.

The Redi Ganapati Temple is a little further down from the parking lot. The beach is just a short distance away. Fine jambha stone steps to descend, a small monastery of Swami Samarth is erected on the right side just before descending the steps. The culmination of Redi Ganpati temple is seen from there. In the beginning, a magnificent assembly hall and the gabhara in front of it. A tall idol of Lord Ganapati, spanning the entire core, should be more than six feet tall and five feet wide. Earlier this idol was completely made of stone but over time it was painted for beauty of the idol. Every devotee who comes here has the feeling and knowledge that this Swayambhu Ganpati fulfills the wishes of all.
रेडी गणपती मंदिर हे पार्किंग जागे पासून थोड्या खालील बाजूस आहे. तेथून अगदी काही अंतरावर समुद्र किनारा आहे. खाली उतरण्यासाठी उत्तम जांभा दगडाच्या पायर्‍या, पायऱ्या उतरायच्या अगोदरच उजव्या बाजूला एक स्वामी समर्थांचा छोटेखानी मठ उभारलेला आहे. तेथूनच रेडी गणपती मंदिराचा कळस दिसून येतो. सुरुवातीला भव्य असा सभामंडप आणि त्याच्या समोर असलेला गाभारा. संपूर्ण गाभाऱ्यावर पसरलेली उंच अशी श्रीं गणपती ची मूर्ती, तब्बल सहा फक्त पेक्षा जास्त उंच आणि पाच फूट रुंद असावी. पूर्वी ही मूर्ती पूर्णपणे दगडाची होती पण कालांतराने मूर्तीच्या सुभकतेसाठी तिच्यावर रंगकाम करण्यात आले. असा हा स्वयंभू गणपती सर्वांचीच मनोकामना पूर्ण करतो अशी भावना व प्रचिती येथे येणाऱ्या प्रत्येक भाविकांच्या मनात असते.

The festivals celebrated at Redi Ganapati are as follows. Lord Ganesha’s birthday is celebrated on Redi Ganapati Manifest Day i.e. 18th April. At this time, due to the crowd of devotees, the area looks like a fair. Similarly, on Sankashta Chaturthi, Vinayaki and Angaraki Chaturthi, devotees come here in large numbers at this time.
