This temple is established on the road Amboli Ghat via Kolhapur Gadhinglaj. The special thing about this temple is that it is built in the middle of Ka lake. Hearing water on all sides and Ganesha temple in the middle feels a little different. But really this is a great example of the ingenuity of the villagers of this village. That is why this temple is called as Ganpati in the lake

कोल्हापूर गडहिंग्लज मार्गे आंबोली घाट या रस्त्यावर हे मंदिर स्थापित आहे. या मंदिराचे विशेष म्हणजे हे का तलावाच्या मध्यभागी बांधले गेले आहे. चारही बाजूने पाणी आणि मधोमध असलेले गणेश मंदिर ऐकून थोडे वेगळे वाटते. पण खरंच येथील गावातील गावकर्‍यांच्‍या कल्पकतेचे हे उत्तम उदाहरण आहे. म्हणुनच या मंदिराला तळ्यातल्या गणपती असे ही संबोधले जाते.

We had the opportunity to visit this temple courtesy of our friend Mr. Sopan Vaskar. Coming from Gadhinglaj to Ajra, this temple is situated in a pond just two minutes from the main road in Mahagao village. We entered through the arch of the temple. After climbing a few steps, a small bridge leading to the main temple came into view. As soon as we reached that bridge, we were very happy to see such a beautiful panoramic view. Beautiful clear water on all sides and the temple in between is very amazing. A fountain was also installed in the neighboring pond. Think how beautiful this temple of fountains and water will look in the night light.

आमचे स्नेही श्री सोपान वासकर यांच्या सौजन्याने या मंदिरात भेट देण्याचा योग आला. गडहिंग्लज येथून आजरा येथे येताना महागाव या गावी मुख्य रस्त्यापासून अगदी दोन मिनिटांच्या अंतरावर एका तलावात हे मंदिर स्थापित आहे. मंदिराच्या कमानीतून आम्ही आत प्रवेश केला. काही पायऱ्या चढून गेल्यानंतर मुख्य मंदिरात घेऊन जाणारा एक छोटासा पूल दृष्टीस पडला. त्या पुलावर पोहोचताच सुंदर असे विहंगम दृश्य पाहून फार आनंद झाला. सर्व बाजूस सुंदर नितळ पाणी आणी मधील मंदिर फारच अप्रतिम. सोबत शेजारी शेजारील तलावात कारंजे बसवले होते. विचार करा रात्रीच्या रोषणाईत कारंजे आणी पाण्यातील हे मंदिर किती छान दिसत असेल.

Despite being a small temple, it has a very amazing and charming architectural structure. What is special is that a very beautiful temple has been built in such a small space with the help of creativity. The dome of the temple stands on eight pillars. The door of the main temple is teak wood with fine carvings. A circumambulation path has been made between the pillars and gabhara of the temple. On the octagonal walls of the temple, idols of the famous Ashtavinayaka are installed in his name. Mooshak Raj and Kurma are sitting in front.

एक छोटेखानी मंदिर असूनही फार अप्रतिम आणी मनमोहक वास्तू रचना आहे. विशेष म्हणजे एवढ्या कमी जागेत कल्पकतेच्या जोरावर फार सुंदर मंदिर उभारण्यात आले आहे. मंदिराचा घुमट हा आठ खांबांवर उभा आहे. मुख्य मंदिराचा दरवाजा हा सागवानी असून त्यावर उत्तम कोरीवकाम केले आहे. मंदिराचे खांब आणी गाभारा यामधे प्रदक्षिणा मार्ग ही बनवण्यात आला आहे. मंदिराच्या अष्टकोनी भिंतींवर सुप्रसिद्ध अष्टविनायक यांच्या मूर्ती त्यांच्या नावा बसवल्या आहेत. समोरच मूषक राज आणि कूर्म विराजमान आहेत. गाभाऱ्याच्या आत सुंदर अशी पाषाणापासून बनवलेली सुंदर अशी गणेश मूर्ती आहे. व तिच्या समोरच अभिषेक आधी पूजा विधींसाठी पितळेची अजून एक मूर्ती आहे. ज्यावर पुजाऱ्यांद्वारे नित्य अभिषेक केला जातो.
