The name of the village Chaphal may have been derived from the name of the flower Chafa. Chaphal is a small and sparsely populated village in Satara district. Sant Ramdas Swami’s Ram and Hanuman were highly valued. Hanumanta actually brought Narayan i.e. Ramdas to see Lord Rama. A painting that tells such a story is near the temple of Chaphal. Also, the Ramamurthy at Chaphal is the actual form of revelation given by Prabhu Ramachandra to Saint Ramdas Swami.

चाफळ येथील राम मंदिराचे मूळ स्वरूप तसेच ठेवून त्यावर संगमरवरी बांधकाम करण्यात आले आहे. हे बांधकाम 1970 च्या दशकात मफतलाल या औद्योगिक समूहाकडून करण्यात आले. राम लक्ष्मण जानकी जय बोलो हनुमान की या भजनाप्रमाणे सर्व मूर्ती एकाच जागी पाहायला मिळतील. मुर्त्यांचे तेजस्वी रूप पाहून मन धन्य होतं.

Adjacent to the temple is the meditation temple of Ramdas Swami. Its architecture is absolutely amazing. Constructed entirely of black stone, this place feels like just a subway through the mouth. There is a system where only one person can enter at a time. Even going down, the cave divides into sections. The first section is a bit wide and has enough space for three to four people to sit at a time. There is another caveman next door. Only one person can enter the cave at a time. According to some, this is a secret underground route and it may be found on the road leading to Sajjangad and Raigad. This place for solitary meditation is the best architectural design of that time.

मंदिराच्या शेजारी रामदास स्वामींचे ध्यान मंदिर आहे. ज्याचे वास्तुकला अगदी अप्रतिम आहे. संपूर्ण काळा दगडाने बांधलेली ही जागा मुखाद्वारे फक्त एका भुयारी मार्गासारखे वाटते. एकावेळी फक्त एकच माणूस आतमध्ये जाऊ शकेल अशी व्यवस्था आहे. खाली गेल्यावरही ही गुहा विभागात विभागते. पहिला भाग थोडा रुंद तीन ते चार व्यक्ती एका वेळी बसू शकतील एवढी जागा येथे आहे. तेथेच शेजारी दुसऱ्या गुहेचेदार आहे त्या गुहेत फक्तं एक व्यक्ती एका एकावेळी जाऊ शकतो. काहींच्या काहींच्या मते हा एक भुयारी गुप्त मार्ग असून तो सज्जनगड आणी रायगड येथे जाणार्‍या रस्त्यावर मिळत असावा. एकांतात ध्यान साधना करण्याची ही जागा म्हणजे त्यावेळचे उत्तम वास्तू शिल्प आहे.
