Like every bike rider, it was our dream to visit Khardung La Pass. Which we accomplished during our Ladakh bike ride. For this we settled at leh the previous day. And made necessary documents. Ladakh says that special permission is required for various tours. It is called a permit, you can get it online, through the provincial office here or through the hotel owners. We got it made from the hotel staff. Which saved us a lot of time. Also, within a day, we got acquainted with the environment here.

प्रत्येक बाईक रायडर प्रमाणे आमचे ही, खार्दुंग ला पास येथे भेट देणे हे स्वप्न होतं. जे आम्ही आमच्या लद्दाक बाईक राईट दरम्यान पूर्ण केले. यासाठी आम्ही आदल्या दिवशी leh येथे वस्ती केली. आणी जरुरी कागदपत्रे बनवून घेतली. लदाक म्हणतात विविध फिरण्यासाठी विशेष परवानगी घ्यावी लागते. त्याला परमिट असं म्हणतात, ते आपण ऑनलाईन, येथील प्रांत ऑफिस अथवा हॉटेल मालकांच्या द्वारे बनवून घेऊ शकता. आम्ही ते हॉटेल च्या स्टाफ कडून बनवून घेतले. ज्यामुळे आमचा बराच वेळ वाचला. तसेच एकदिवसात आम्ही येथील वातावरणाशी समरूप झालो.
Early in the morning we left Leh for Khadumala pass. The mind was excited with excitement and curiosity. The distance from Leh to Khardung La Pass is just 40 km. So in just a few minutes we reached the foot of the ghat. There was a checkpoint where our documents were checked. Since tourism is the only means of production. Cars brought on lease from Manali or Himachal Pradesh were prohibited here. Only leh or private trains were allowed to proceed from here.
सकाळी लवकरच आम्ही लेह पासून खादुमला पास येथे जाण्यास निघालो. उत्साह आणि कुतूहल याने मन रोमांचित होऊन गेले होते. लेह ते खार्दुंग ला पास हे अंतर अवघ्या 40 km che आहे. त्यामुळे अवघ्या काही मिनिटांत आम्ही घाटाच्या पायथ्याशी पोहोचलो. येथे एक चौकी लागली, जेथे आमची कागदपत्रे चेक केली गेली. पर्यटन हे एकमेव उत्पादनाचे साधन असल्याने. येथे मनाली किवा हिमाचल प्रदेश येथून भाडेतत्त्वावर आणलेल्या गाड्यांना मनाई होती. केवळ leh अथवा private गाड्यांना येथून पुढे जाण्याची मुभा होती.
Adventure of Khardungla Pass bike ride
After verification of all the documents we started climbing the ghat. And was mesmerized by the snow-clad landscape around. With each coming turn we were gaining more and more altitude. Then it started snowing. Sago sized drops of snow began to fall on our helmets. In some places the ground was slippery due to snow. So we proceeded very carefully riding the bike. In some places, the dew point of the water even melts away. Janu looked like someone told him to stop. The whole experience was very exciting. But it certainly wasn’t as disturbing as everyone feared. Eventually we reached the highest point on the mountain top. And enjoyed the wonderful panoramic view of the Himalayas. Thats why tourists from allover world attract here.
सर्व कागदपत्रांची पडताळणी झाल्यानंतर आम्ही घाटाच्या चढाईस सुरुवात केली. आणि सभोवतालचा बर्फच्छादित प्रदेश पाहून अगदी मंत्रमुग्ध झालो. प्रत्येक येणाऱ्या वळणानंतर आम्ही अधिकाधिक उंचीवर पोहोचत होतो. तेवढ्यात हिमवर्षाव सुरू झाला. बर्फाचे साबुदाण्याच्या आकाराचे थेंब आमच्या हेल्मेट वर पडू लागले. काही जागी बर्फामुळे जागा निसरडी झाली होती. त्यामुळे अगदी सावधपणे bike चालवत पुढे निघालो. काही जागी पाण्याचे दवबिंदू अगदी ओघळताना. janu त्यांना कोणी तसेच थांबण्यास सागितले तसेच दिसत होते. सर्वचअनुभव फार रोमांचकारी होता. पण सर्वानी दाखवलेल्या भीती प्रमाणे तेव्हढे त्रास दायक नक्कीच नव्हते. अखेरीस आम्ही डोंगर माथ्यावर सर्वोच्च उंचीला पोहोचलो. आणी हिमालयाचे अद्भुत विहंगम दृश्य पाहण्यात रममाण झालो. आणि मनोमन हे कळून चुकले की, का जगभरातील पर्यटक येथे आकर्षित होतात.
